Sordo

Sordo was a human male who was partner of the human female Squidna. In 4 BBY, they attended the wedding of the Chandrilans Stekan Sculdun and Leida Mothma, the latter of who was daughter of Sordo's nephew Perrin Fertha and his wife Mon Mothma. Fertha and Mon greeted Sordo and Squidna when they arrived at the Mothma Estate on the planet Chandrila, and, at a party later that night, the couple spoke to the bride and groom.

On the second day of the wedding, Sordo watched Fertha give a wedding speech at dinner, and, on the third day, the uncle observed the wedding ceremony in one of the estate's courtyards and the first dance in the estate's ballroom.

Biography

Wedding arrival

Sordo was a human male^[1] who was partner^[2] to the human female Squidna and uncle to Perrin Fertha, a native of^[1] the planet^[3] Chandrila. In 4 BBY, Sordo and Squidna attended the three-day wedding of Fertha^[1] and his wife^[4] Mon Mothma's daughter, Leida Mothma, and fellow Chandrilan Stekan Sculdun at the Mothma Estate on Chandrila. After arriving in an airspeeder on the first day, Sordo and Squidna were greeted by Mon and Fertha, the latter of whom Sordo handed a gift and called their favorite nephew. In return, Fertha called Sordo his favorite reprobate and the group then headed further into the estate.^[1]

Mon's assistant Erskin Semaj then approached to discuss a parking problem with her. Fertha briefly joined their conversation before Sordo asked him if they should wait for others to arrive or head to the bar, while Mon departed. Fertha suggested they head for the bar. Later that night^[1] at a party inside one of the estate's small courtyards,^[2] Sordo and Squidna spoke with Leida and Sculdun.^[1] The bride and groom schmoozed the older couple^[2] as Fertha and Stekan's father, Davo Sculdun, watched.^[1]

Three-day festivities

On the second day of the wedding, Sordo and Squidna attended the wedding dinner on the estate, and Sordo sat beside Fertha, while Squidna sat a few places down beside Mon. Per Chandrilan tradition, Fertha gave a speech from a dais in the center of the room, welcoming the guests in Chandrilan and toasting their health before offering advice to the bride and groom. At the end of the speech, Sordo raised their glass along with everyone else present.^[6]

On the third and final day of the wedding, Sordo and Squidna attended the ceremony in one of the estate's courtyards, standing together on an outer circle with other family members. The couple observed the bride and groom and their parents in the courtyard's central circle as they carried out a ritual in which Stekan cut a braid of Leida's hair. After the ceremony, Sordo and Squidna gathered with the other guests^[5] in the estate's ballroom^[4] to receive the newly married couple, tapping their glasses as Leida and Sculdun passed by. The crowd then watched Davo unveil his wedding gift to the newlyweds, a Chandi Merle statue. When Davo finished a speech about the statue, Sodro tapped a glass and cried "teema" with the rest of the crowd.^[5]

At drinks afterward, Sordo and Squidna spoke with Mon until her business partner Tay Kolma approached, at which point Squidna led Sordo away. Soon after, Sordo and Squidna watched Leida and Stekan perform their first dance after which the guests mingled. A speaker droid then entered the room and began playing music for the guests to dance to.^[5]

Personality and traits

Sordo had light skin and gray hair. Fertha considered his uncle a reprobate, and Sordo was happy to get a head start on the bar when arriving at the wedding.^[1]

Equipment

On the first day of the wedding, Sordo wore gray, purple, and white robes,^[1] changing to golden, brown, and white robes on the second day^[6] and brown and white robes on the third.^[5] Upon arriving at the Mothma Estate in a cyan airspeeder, Sordo gave Fertha a gift in a golden cross-shaped box with metallic decorations and described it as "good stuff."^[1]

Behind the scenes

Sordo was portrayed by Jonathan Coy in the second season of the live-action series Star Wars: Andor, first appearing in the season's first three episodes, "One Year Later," "Sagrona Teema," and "Harvest," all of which were released on Disney+^[1] on April 22, 2025.^[7] The scene in which Sordo is introduced^[1] was filmed as a "oner" and was the final visual effects shot filmed for the season, completed in collaboration between Industrial Light & Magic and Scanline VFX on August 5, 2024.^[8]
