- "A drop of discomfort may be the price of doing business."
- ―Davo Sculdun, to Mon Mothma
Davo Sculdun was a human[2] male oligarch,[5] financier,[6] and banker from the planet Chandrila.[1] Rising to power and wealth through non-conventional means,[6] the corrupt[7] Sculdun developed a bad reputation as[1] a shady[6] thug. Much to her upset, Tay Kolma advised Senator Mon Mothma to meet with Sculdun if she wanted to justify the disappearance of 400,000 credits.[1] At the Chandrilan Embassy on Coruscant, Sculdun offered Mothma a loan in exchange for a chance to introduce his son, Stekan, to the senator's daughter, Leida Mothma. Mothma said no but Sculdun was convinced that she was thinking the offer over.[2] Mothma eventually would agree to Sculdun's demands, and she introduced her daughter to his son.[4]
In 4 BBY, Sculdun and his wife Runai attended the wedding of Stekan and Leida on Chandrila at the Mothma Estate. Sculdun partnered with the curator Luthen Rael[8] in order to bring a rare Chandi Merle artifact to the ceremonies as a wedding present. Sculdun was central to the many different elements of Chandrilan wedding culture, partaking in the tradition alongside Runai, Mothma, and Perrin Fertha.[9]
In 3 BBY, Sculdun discovered the Coryio Chalice in his antiques gallery was a forgery and ordered for the reappraisals of all of his relics[10] Sculdun and Runai later hosted a soirée in his accommodation on Coruscant, both Mothma and Fertha were present, and some members of the Imperial Security Bureau were in attendance. Sculdun gave a handful of guests a tour of his collection, and introduced Director Orson Krennic to Rael.[11]
Equipment
The blue gold outfit worn by Davo Sculdun did not quite fit into traditional Chandrilan fashion, signifying his rise to power in a non-traditional manner.[6]

Davo Sculdun was mentioned in the ninth episode of the first season of the Disney+ television series Star Wars: Andor[1] which aired on November 2, 2022.[12] He later made his first appearance in the tenth episode of the series,[2] which aired on November 9, 2022,[12] being portrayed by Richard Dillane.[2] His name was misspelled as "Davos Sculden" in "Most Wanted: Cassian Andor and Associates," an article written by Christopher Cooper and published in Star Wars Insider 231[13] on April 29, 2025[14]
Writer Dan Gilroy believed that Sculdun would own the HoloNet News and wrote a scene for "Welcome to the Rebellion" in which he chose to let Mon Mothma's speech against Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine carry on across the airwaves. While the scene was never realized,[15] the series did contain a mention of the HoloNews being bought-out after discussions in Sculdun's office.[16]
