The Son-tuul Pride was a criminal syndicate[1] that was based on Son-tuul, an Outer Rim jungle planet. The organization was a major competitor of the Hutt Clan, specifically Jabba the Hutt. Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, Imperial forces, under the command of Grand General Cassio Tagge, began cracking down on Outer Rim criminal interests, which had gone unchecked in the past. Using one of the Pride's smugglers as a double agent equipped with a tracker, Darth Vader attacked the Pride's base and seized its hoards of credits.[2]
After being briefly reorganized under the leadership of the protocol droid 0-0-0,[4] the Son-tuul Pride was dealt another blow after its base was again attacked by Imperial forces, this time under the command of Lieutenant-Inspector Magna Tolvan.[6] The syndicate later attended the Auction for Han Solo, hosted by the Crimson Dawn syndicate.[7]
Organization
With many members of various alien species, the Pride was powerful enough to draw the attention of the Empire[2] and to be considered by some to be the sixth member of the Five Crime Syndicates.[5] They partook in operations such as smuggling cargo. The Pride was ruthless, demanding results despite Imperial interference and executing their own members for their failures.[2]
