Rodian pepper

Rodian peppers were a type of pepper consumable by humans that shared their name with the Rodian species. The peppers could be heated and filled with stuffing when served as part of a meal. While on[1] the Core Worlds[2] planet Coruscant[1] in 28 BBY,[3] Senator Padmé Amidala and her handmaidens ate stuffed Rodian peppers for dinner. Amidala arrived at the meal slightly after her companions, and they kept her serving of the dish warmed until she sat with them.[1]

Behind the scenes

Rodian peppers first appeared in the current Star Wars canon in Queen's Shadow, a 2019 young-adult novel written by E. K. Johnston as the first installment of Star Wars: Queen's Series.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the peppers were mentioned in the 2011 BioWare video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[4]
