"Ord Mynock's parasitic natives are a silicon-based breed of airborne creature. […] Some members of the species leave their homeworld and journey to nearby asteroids and planetoids."
―From the journal of Ardis San Tekka[5]

Ord Mynock was a planet[4] located within the Ord Mynock system[3] of the Prefsbelt sector within the Outer Rim Territories[1] and New Territories.[2] It fell within grid square K-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It was the homeworld of the mynock, a silicon-based species of vacuum-breathing creatures that fed on energy.[4] Some mynocks left Ord Mynock and traveled to nearby asteroids and planetoids.[5] The Prefsbelt sector was reputed to be the source of mynocks.[6]

In 34 ABY,[7] the Creature Stall in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu sold toy mynocks with labels that listed Ord Mynock as the creatures' homeworld.[4] Galactic Society of Creature Enthusiasts Director of Creature Cartography Ardis San Tekka mentioned Ord Mynock when writing about mynocks in her journal[5] at some point after the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY.[8]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, Ord Mynock was first mentioned on a toy label available at the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,[4] which opened to guests at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019.[9] The world originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in Gamemaster Toolkit: Live-Action Adventures, a Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game supplement written by Tony Russo and released by West End Games in 1996.[10]
