Kaleesh warriors were legendary and fierce warriors of the Kaleesh species from the Wild Space planet Kalee.
Description
Kaleesh warriors[3] were members of the Kaleesh species[2] of fabled[4] and ferocious warriors,[5] skilled in their own martial disciplines.[6] The Kaleesh wore cloaks,[7] and half hoods[8] as part of their warrior traditions of their homeworld of Kalee, and wearing fearsome masks was common among them,[2] often[4] carved from the skulls, bones,[2] and teeth[9] of deadly predatory beasts,[2] generally killed to demonstrate their bravery.[4]
History
The Kaleesh who would become known as "Grievous" (pictured as he was before his cybernetics) led his fellow Kaleesh warriors in war against the Yam'rii.
During the full-scale,[10] brutal conflict[11] against the Yam'rii, an insectoid species from the planet Huk in the same system,[2] on their homeworld of Kalee,[11] Kaleesh warlord[2] Qymaen jai Sheelal,[12] later known as "Grievous,"[13] led his people.[2] He traveled[14] and battled alongside Kalee's best warriors,[1] the Izvoshra,[13] whom he assembled into[10] his elite[15] bodyguard. Each of the Izvoshra was a khan in command of troops of their own.[10] The Kaleesh forces, headed by Grievous with his increased vigor and determination while on the offensive, eventually drove the Yam'rii off of their world,[1] and onto Huk itself. A series of devastating campaigns were launched,[15] sweeping across the barren Huk worlds.[16]
