Grievous, a Kaleesh, wore a Kaleesh cloak before he became a cyborg.
A Kaleesh cloak was a warrior's traditional campaign cloak, much like their fearsome mask, with mumuu markings worn by Kaleesh warriors native to the planet Kalee. General Grievous wore a cloak in his earlier life and continued to wear them as a cyborg, and his IG-100 MagnaGuards, including IG-101 and IG-102, wore cloaks to recall the traditions on his homeworld.
Design
The Kaleesh cloak was a warrior's[1] traditional campaign cloak[2] or cape,[3] much like their own fearsome mask,[4] with mumuu markings[5] used by Kaleesh warrior[1] from their homeworld Kalee.[6]
History
The feared warrior[6] and warlord[5] Grievous donned a Kaleesh cloak[7] with the Kaleesh logo[8] in his early life,[7] and after a shuttle crash[9] turned him into a cyborg, he continued to wear a cloak[7] that was lined with several sheath pockets[10] for lightsabers throughout the Clone Wars.[11] The IG-100 MagnaGuards who worked with Grievous were outfitted with a Kaleesh cloak[6] and half-hood[1] from his homeworld,[6] in honor of his original faithful Izvoshra bodyguards,[12] as well as an homage to the traditions[6] worn on his homeworld.[1] Ithorian collector Dok-Ondar collected a Kaleesh cloak worn by the late General Grievous[13] as a Separatist general[7] and displayed it at his Batuuan store, Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities in Black Spire Outpost.[14] In 9 ABY,[15] the Imperial KX-series security droid K-A0S wore an outfit that replicated a Kaleesh cloak.[16]
