Tuut Orial was a male alien merchant who sold flying attack droids on the pirate-infested Port Borgo asteroid during the reign of the New Republic around 9 ABY. The child KB watched Orial advertising the droids to a crowd, and later her companion Wim ran into the vendor while fleeing from a group of pirates.

The male[2] alien Tuut Orial worked as a merchant from a stall on Port Borgo, an asteroid frequented by pirates.[1] Around 9 ABY,[3] during the reign of the New Republic, Orial was selling flying attack droids from the stall, using some active droids to demonstrate their abilities while calling out to advertise to potential customers. As the child KB joined a crowd of onlookers, the alien leaped up to throw a piece of fruit in the air for one of the droids to slice through.[1]

An Aqualish then poked one of the droids, causing it to strike them in the eye, and Orial rushed over as the wounded Aqualish collapsed. The merchant then continued hawking their wares as one of the droids briefly chased after KB, before leaving[1] her[4] alone once she backed into her friend Fern. Orial was later standing at a table by their stall when KB's companion Wim ran into the merchant and knocked them down while trying to escape from a mob of pirates.[1]

Wim bumped into Tuut Orial.

KB and Fern then confronted the pirates to save Wim and their other companion Neel as Orial slowly got up from the floor. The pirate droid SM-33 then came to the children's aid, punching the pirate Vane back into Orial's stall and also[1] knocking one of the flying attack droids from the air.[4] The fight continued by the stall until SM-33 and the children fled, although the pirates eventually captured them.[1]

Behind the scenes

Tuut Orial was portrayed by Alan Resnick in "Way, Way Out Past the Barrier,"[1] the second episode of the live-action Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which aired on December 2, 2024.[5] The character's name was not spoken in the episode but appeared in the credits,[1] with Resnick confirming which character was Orial on social media.[6] Tuut Orial is a partial anagram[1] of the name of Resnick's YouTube channel, "alantutorial."[7]

  3. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition, SWInsider "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well. StarWars.com SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
