Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi are facing a very real threat from a very elusive adversary, who is as cunning as he is evil. He will stop at nothing to draw others to the dark side and undermine the Republic. If the Jedi do not stop him, it will mean danger for the whole galaxy.

Plot summary

Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi once again run afoul of Granta Omega. Their enigmatic enemy hires soldiers on Haariden to attack a team of Jedi tasked with protecting a scientific expedition on the seismically active world. Though the Jedi survive, Anakin’s impulsiveness results in fellow Padawan Darra Thel-Tanis being inadvertently injured in the attack. Back on Coruscant, Omega poses as a scientist and lures Anakin into a trap, but Obi-Wan rescues his apprentice. The two learn that Omega, though not Force-sensitive, is a cultist who wishes to attract the attention of the unseen Sith Lord by moving against the Jedi. Omega attempts to exploit a volcanic eruption on Haariden to reap its mineral wealth in a bid to corner the bacta market. The Jedi chase Omega to Haariden, but he once again escapes.

Continuity

A jump in time advanced Anakin to sixteen years of age, as revealed in book five of the series.[1]
