The Chekkoo clan was a Rodian clan on the planet Rodia. It controlled a part east to the Betu continent, allowing a number of minor clans—such as the Adebsu and Intamm—to habitat portions of their province in exchange for their loyalty.[2]
Chekkoo was a powerful clan and was engaged in century-long wars, they became cautious and protected the lands around the Chekkoo Province from strangers. The Chekkoo maintain a small army of Protectors who patrolled on foot and air, and hunted any tresspassers; the lucky ones were captured and hauled to the Chekkoo Enclave for interrogation by the Chief Protector.[2]
The Chekkoo clan was once powerful and dominated its province, claiming final judgment for the lands above the other allied clans. However as it was a major opponent to the ruling Chattza Clan, Navik the Red, Grand Protector of Rodia, isolated the province from trade, impoverishing the Chekkoo.[2]
The Chekkoo traded with smugglers in order to survive. They also manufactured melee wapons of high quality that could compete modern ones, which they traded.[2] The local Provincial government made deals with off-world entities such as Reena's Interstellar Shipping, with whom they attempted to replace their aged Power fence around the enclave.[3]
The weakened clan could only mind their own business, staying within its own territory and avoiding direct confrontation against the ruling clan.[2] However during the Galactic Civil War, a Chekkoo clan member with his band, attempted to hijack the Listing Dewback and its shipment of smuggled weapons, intended for an armed confrontation.[1]
