The Chekkoo Enclave is a Chekkoo clan's holding, the headquarters of the clan's Chief Protector and Protectors. It was located close to the Ekloska Hills in the Chekkoo Province on Rodia's Betu continent. It was large enough to be considered a small city, containing 200,000 inhabitants.[2]

The enclave was built around a rock outcropping, geologically part of the nearby Ekloska Hills. To the western end of the outcropping was built a squat tower, encircled by a wall. Three more walls surrounded the tower and the outcropping, forming the enclave, houses and businesses. The oldest walls were built of stone, while the newest parts were built of metal more modern materials, such as synthcrete.[2]

The outermost perimeter of the city, encircling the newest portions, consisted of an power fence; because of Navik the Red's policies, the Clan and the Province stayed behind in technology, and the old power fence generators needed frequent repairs.[2]

Roads connected the Enclave to the nearby enclaves of Adebsu and Intamm, as well as leading away to other parts of the jungle.[2]

History and culture

The Enclave housed the Chekkoo clan, which, after centuries of wars, such as the Rodian Clan Wars, which led to the rival Chattza clan's rise to power, preferred to stay in their own territory and mind their business, away from politics. The Grand Protector Navik the Red's policy of isolating and hindering the development of enemy clans, forced the Chekkoo to stay behind in technology and trade.[2]

Most buildings, equipments and vehicles showed their age, with the condition of the enclave's power fence (which was mostly off-line) as a prime example. The few wealthier families in the enclave tended to own more advanced equipment, and this was partially thanks to the smugglers.[2]
