The Cathar were a catlike, felinoid humanoid sentient species. Members of the species possessed fur and manes, slitted eyes and noses, pointed ears, a mouth with teeth, and clawed hands. They were powerful, swift, and fierce fighters.

Society and culture

The species were powerful, quick, and fierce fighters.[5]

Cathers in the galaxy

During the High Republic Era, the Cathar Tasia served as a Storm in Lourna Dee's Tempest of the Nihil pirate organization,[4] and Far Linghe served as a Jedi Knight.[6] Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY,[7] both the Cathar criminal twins were the subject of a bounty taken by the bounty hunter Raslin Grace.[3]

In 5 ABY,[8] the Cathar female Dhina served as an ensign aboard the Star Destroyer Deliverance, the flagship of New Republic General Hera Syndulla.[1]

The Cathar first appeared in Star Wars canon in the 2021 novel Victory's Price: An Alphabet Squadron Novel, the third installment of Alexander Freed's Alphabet Squadron trilogy.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Cathar debuted in the first issue of the Dark Lords of the Sith arc of the comic series Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi,[9] which was published by Dark Horse Comics on October 1, 1994.[10]
