A blaster cannon was a limited-range, heavy artillery weapon that utilized high-energy blaster[source?] gas to produce a visible short-range beam of intense energy.[3] Although capable of causing great damage to structures and organic tissue alike,[source?] they were less powerful than laser cannons.[3] While blaster cannons were commonly fitted to starships[1] or ground vehicles like the Flash speeder,[4] there also existed handheld models like the Z-6 rotary blaster cannon.[5]

Models of blaster cannons included the Vulk TAU-6-23 "Blastmill" rotary blaster cannon,[6] the Mark II EWHB-10,[7] and the F-11ABA heavy blaster cannon.[8]
