A battle in the Cha Raaba system between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire took place in 3639 BBY during the Galactic War. Mandalorian warlord Varek Tarn stole the construction plans for the Sovereign Forge, a secret Imperial mining station and shipyard, and attempted to sell them to the Republic at a minefield in the Cha Raaba system.[4]
The battle
The Empire's Fury]] squadron was sent to intercept Varek Tarn and was almost immediately ambushed by a pair of Plug-6 heavy fighters, defeating them whilst approaching the minefield. Bypassing a Mandalorian frigate and damaging a Thranta-class corvette, the Empire's Fury began to pursue the Republic shuttle being escorted by Varek Tarn himself, piloting an XS stock light freighter, and two further Plug-6 fighters. During the intense dogfight among the systems asteriods, the shuttle carrying the plans, Varek Tarn and his fighters were destroyed. The Republic corvette subsequently moved to escape the asteroid field and jump to hyperspace but was also destroyed by the Empire's Fury before it could do so.[4]
