Events
- Ellian Zahra becomes the student of Wilhuff Tarkin, defeating Hannevik and Beldin.[17] (Approximate date)[18]
- The Empire begins mining for kyber crystals on Jedha. The journalist Calliope Drouth tries to warn the rebellion of this using coded language. (Approximate date)[18]
- Alliance High Command sets up a base on Yavin 4,[19] after the evacuation of Dantooine base.[20] While Yavin 4 was already being used as a base by the time of the Battle of Atollon,[21] the gathering of various rebel cells on the moon formed the core of High Command.[20]
- The Hunt for Vader occurs.[5][18]
- The Hutt Clan and InterGalactic Banking Clan are engaged in a series of conflicts known as the trade wars. Under the orders of Jabba Desilijic Tiure, Greedo is sent to Mygeeto to capture a Givin codebreaker from the Vice Chairman of the Banking Clan, Anolo, but the mission ends in failure when the codebreaker dies. Greedo is spared from Jabba's wrath when Dok-Ondar agrees to buy the lightsaber of Ki-Adi-Mundi, which Greedo had recovered during the mission.[9][22]
- Alrich Wren is rescued.[23]
- Darth Vader's efforts to resurrect Padmé Amidala with the Bright Star are ruined.[6][18]
- Sabine Wren passes the Darksaber on to Lady Bo-Katan
- Kanan Jarrus is killed on Lothal
- Lothal is liberated from the Galactic Empire.[10]
- Luthen Rael learns of Project Stardust from Lonni Jung.[16]
- Following his attempted suicide, Rael is taken to the Lina Soh Hospital on Coruscant by orders of Supervisor Dedra Meero. Shortly after, he is killed by Kleya Marki.[16]
- Major Lio Partagaz sends an ISB Tactical strike force to apprehend Marki, but they are stopped and Marki is rescued by Rebel Alliance operatives Cassian Andor, Ruescott Melshi and K-2SO.[24]
- Major Partagaz commits suicide instead of receiving punishment for his failure. Meanwhile, Dedra Meero is imprisoned.[24]
- Jyn Erso is liberated by the Rebel Alliance.[4]
- The Galactic Empire conducts its first test of the Death Star's weapon on Jedha, fully destroying Jedha City.[4]
- Open warfare in the Galactic Civil War begins.[4]
- The Alliance to Restore the Republic wins its first major victory,[11] thanks to the actions of Rogue One, against the Galactic Empire by stealing the plans to the Death Star, at the Battle of Scarif.[4]
- After she received the plans to the Death Star, Princess Leia Organa gives them to R2-D2 before being captured by the Empire and imprisoned on the Death Star.[11]
- Emperor Sheev Palpatine dissolves the Imperial Senate and establishes a royal dictatorship.[11]
- The Trade Federation is then dissolved.[25]
- Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker join the Rebel Alliance.[11]
- Owen Lars, Beru Whitesun Lars and Nebit’s Tribe are killed.[11]
- The Empire successfully tests the newly fully operational superlaser of the Death Star and destroys the planet Alderaan.[11]
- Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, and Chewbacca rescue Princess Leia aboard the Death Star.[11]
- Obi-Wan Kenobi is killed by Darth Vader aboard the Death Star.[11]
