"You're three months behind, Alma!"
"I was here long before
you ever showed up! I don't see why I have to pay anything!"
―Ah Re Won's mayor and Alma[1]

Alma was an innkeeper ran a bed and breakfast on the Outer Rim planet Ah Re Won. When the cloaked Sith apprentice Darth Maul arrived to her town to meditate at the ruins of a Sith temple[1] sometime between around 40 BBY and 32 BBY,[2] Alma offered the Zabrak stranger a room and meals for a fair price. He took her up on the deal as long as he could have quietude.[1]

Alma was an early settler of the area, and during her time there, the settlement grew significantly. Nestled between a beach and the ruins of the Sith temple, the town attracted enough tourism to lead the newly appointed mayor, a greedy Sullustan, to construct a flashy hotel. The mayor attempted to force Alma out of her building so he could improve his visitors' view of the ruins. He attempted stiff taxation, bothering her with noise, and, when those attempts failed, to burn down her inn. The mayor's scheming was cut short by Maul, who grew annoyed by the commotion the Sullustan was creating. The next morning, the mayor's security droids went to Alma for help when their boss went missing.[1]

Later during Maul's visit to the ruins, Alma was accused by the Pirate King of Sector Nine for being complicit in the death of his son at the hands of local beasts. The vengeful pirate king attempted to blast the woman with a tank, but she was able to evade the blasts and get to a starship. Though the pirate king ordered his crew to fire upon the ship, they were unable due to Maul's intervention, allowing Alma to escape.[1]
