- "The mayor has gone missing!"
"Have you seen him?"
"No. And I haven't heard from him either, which is a blessing." - ―The mayor's security droids and Alma
A Sullustan was the mayor of a town on the Outer Rim planet Ah Re Won. At some point, the man immigrated to the planet, and as the settlement grew, he became the mayor. The Sullustan decided to build a luxurious hotel on the beach, hoping to attract off-world vacationers. To his disappointment, however, the early settler Alma operated a small bed and breakfast which blocked the hotel visitors' view of the nearby Sith temple ruins.[2]
Sometime between around 40 BBY and 32 BBY,[1] the mayor attempted to oust Alma from her building and land so he could clear the sight lines to the ruins. He attempted stiff taxation, bothering her with noise, and, when those attempts failed, to burn down her inn. The mayor's scheming annoyed the Sith apprentice Darth Maul, who arrived to the town to meditate at the temple ruins. Although the mayor attempted to coax the stranger to stay at his hotel, the Zabrak instead stayed at Alma's place in search of quietude. During the mayor's attempt to burn Alma's in down, he was slain by Maul and buried in a shallow grave near the ruins. The following morning, while the mayor's security droids searched for their missing master, Maul found the Sullustan's corpse being dug up and eaten by a karafankata.[2]
