The beaches of Scarif
A beach was a landform made of sand that was normally located on the edge of a body of water and land. The planet Scarif contained numerous beaches, many of which connected to jungle canopies.[2] An island on the moon Wasskah had a large beach which sloped into the surrounding water.[3] In addition, the Wookiee city of Kachirho, located on the planet Kashyyyk, was built along a sandy beach.[4] In some cases, planets known for their beaches opened to tourism, such as planets Iloh[5] and Niamos,[1] and Sesid.[6]
During the reign of the Galactic Empire, a specialised branch of the Stormtrooper Corps, Coastal defender Troopers, would patrol beaches to enforce imperial rule[7][1], sometimes with the help of KX-series droids.[1]
