Wroonians were near-human species[1] that originated from the Wroona system.[3][4] Around six millennia before the Battle of Yavin, Wroonians colonized Saleucami.[1] Wroonians were similar in appearance to Pantorans, both having blue skin. This made the two species easy to confuse with one another.[2]

Behind the scenes

The Wroonian species was introduced to current Star Wars canon via mention in "Guide to the Galaxy: Visiting Saleucami," an article in the forty-fourth issue of the 2015 De Agostini magazine Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon.[1] The 2024 reference book Star Wars Encyclopedia: The Comprehensive Guide to the Star Wars Galaxy, stated that the criminal Phaedra was a Wroonian.[5] However, the fourth issue of the 2025 comic series Star Wars: Jedi Knights—also written by Guggenheim, illustrated by Madibek Musabekov, and published by Marvel[6] on June 4, 2025[7]—indicated that her species was Quaraxian.[6] When asked, Guggenheim confirmed that he had intended for Jedi Knights 4 to confirm Phaedra's species as Quaraxian.[8]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the Wroonians were first created for the seventh issue of the 1977 Marvel Comics comic book flagship series Star Wars written by Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin, and illustrated by Chaykin.[9]
