Samonic
  • "Beginning with the role of Imperial Admiral Garreth Holtz in 1999's Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance. In 2001, he voiced 2-1B surgical droids, AT-AT drivers, and the B1-Series battle droid OOM-9 in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds." Perhaps this could be reworded to, "He voiced various characters such as Imperial Admiral Garreth Hotlz in 1999's Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance, 2-1B surgical droids, AT-AT drivers and the B1-Series battle droid OOM-9 from Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds in 2001." Would be cleaner in my opinion.*Samonic ChissAscendancyCanonSymbol (talk) 13:40, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
    • I think having a sentence for each game as I've got it currently is clean enough. Even though only one character is mentioned in that first sentence the phrasing already telegraphs that there's more to be mentioned later. Commander Code-8 Hello There! 08:05, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
      • Alright, it is acceptable.Samonic ChissAscendancyCanonSymbol (talk) 08:14, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
UberSoldat
  • Image is blurry, there are much better alternatives that can be found with a quick Google search. UberSoldat93 ClanMudhornSignet-Redemption (talk) 16:32, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
    • Was trying to find one that didn't have so much Mario content in it, ended up using the same photo from his wikipedia page. Commander Code-8 Hello There! 03:09, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
Manoof
  • On his facebook page -> about -> page transparency, it notes that "Primary country/region location for people who manage this Page includes: United States (1)". His twitter notes "Sausalito, CA". I think this is sufficient to say he is from USA? Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 13:45, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
    • I'm sure that he is American but I don't think this is a good precedent to set, realistically lots of people reside outside of their country of origin
      • I believe there's already precedent that "nationality" can be either their place of birth or their place of residence. Eg, Alexander Siddig Was born in Sudan but lives in UK, so consider him both Sudanese and British. Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 11:41, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
        • Fair call, done Commander Code-8 Hello There! 01:12, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
  • This tweet and his response I think are enough to confirm his birthday as Sep 17. Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 13:45, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
  • I think this tweet can confirm his age and birth year. Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 13:45, 15 February 2022 (UTC)
    • Thank you, how did you even find all these? Added Commander Code-8 Hello There! 10:50, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
      • On desktop there's a twitter search bar, I tried a few things like "birthday (from @charlesmartinet)", LOTS of filtering through random fans and organisations that wished (or were wished) a happy birthday. I was VERY determined lol :) Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 11:41, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

  • Several articles named Charles, thus we need a disambiguation. Maybe a youmay with Martinette too? --NanoLuukeCloning facility 10:38, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
    • Created the disambig, I think the spelling of Martinette is different enough that any readers aren't likely to be looking for it
  • Per general and status precedents, external links should be organized (alphabetically) as follow:
  1. Official website/site(s) (see note about precedents inconsistencies)
  2. Social media
  3. Tertiary websites (meaning website that provide a synthesis of information about the subject), including wikis, imdb, moby
  4. Selection of relevant articles --NanoLuukeCloning facility 10:38, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

  • The quote "url=" parameter should have an archive link instead. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 10:38, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
    • Done
  • Cite_web is missing a parameter, "publisher=" (aka "who own the media"). In the case of AV Club, it's G/O Media. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 10:38, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
    • Done, thanks for the review Commander Code-8 Hello There! 06:45, 19 February 2022 (UTC)

Comments

  • I have been unable to find a source that I think is reliable enough to use to back his birthday and nationality. There's widely repeated information on Wikipedia and IMDB but I don't think they count as substantial. Commander Code-8 Hello There! 13:19, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
  • As noted in my objection, there are inconsistencies in status articles as the use in External links of "Official website" (Little Corvus, Megan Ilnitzki, Daniel M. Lavery, Jenny Parks) versus "Official site" (Stephen Byrne, Yihyoung Li, Viv Tanner, Angela Morley). Let's use this occasion to settle this. I'm personally partial to "Official website" which I've been using for a while, and is also written as such in several internet citation templates too. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 10:43, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
    • "Website" is more formal so I'd be more comfortable with that than the more slang "site" Manoof (he/him/his) (talk) 12:21, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
      • I'm happy side with formality and have added it to the article, but it is worth acknowledging that the real person infobox uses "Official site" Commander Code-8 Hello There! 06:45, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
        • Good point, should probably update that too. --NanoLuukeCloning facility 01:28, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
