Stephen Byrne

Stephen Byrne (born March 7,[1] 1986 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish[2] illustrator, animator, and comic book artist.[3] In 2021, Byrne illustrated a comic cover for the fourteenth issue of the 2020 Marvel Comics series Star Wars as part of the publisher's Pride Month lineup of Star Wars variant covers.[4]

Bryne's official Pride Month variant cover was announced on March 18, 2021 on StarWars.com.[5] On May 7 of the same year, Byrne's final design was revealed,[4] and it was published on June 16.[6]

The comic cover depicts[4] the smuggler[7] Lando Calrissian with[4] the YT-1300 light freighter[7] the Millennium Falcon flying in space below him.[4] The planet[7] Tatooine is seen behind the Falcon while its twin suns,[4] Tatoo I and Tatoo II,[7] are visible in the background to the right of Calrissian.[4]
