Biography
Tanner has expressed that they were especially happy to have illustrated Satine Kryze for Women of the Galaxy (artwork pictured).
Viv Tanner is a Vienna-based Swiss illustrator and animator[2] who was born on November 1. They[1] contributed six illustrations to Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy, a reference book by Amy Ratcliffe highlighting female characters in the Star Wars universe with artwork by female and non-binary artists. Tanner is a frequent collaborator with fellow Women of the Galaxy illustrator Eliot Baum.[4] The book was published on October 30, 2018,[5] though Tanner's involvement was announced beforehand via a StarWars.com article on May 30 of the same year.[6]
Tanner illustrated Lyra Erso, mother of[4] rebel[7] Jyn Erso; Amilyn Holdo, politician and military commander; Satine Kryze, Duchess of Mandalore; Lady Proxima, a Grindalid crime lord; Qi'ra,[4] Crimson Dawn lieutenant;[8] and Brea and Senni Tonnika, a pair of smugglers known as the Tonnika sisters.[4] Tanner only publicly commented on their depiction of Kryze, noting that they were especially happy to have illustrated her.[3] The artist's six illustrations were later reprinted in Women of the Galaxy's updated edition, the 2025 reference book Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy: Updated and Expanded, again authored by Ratcliffe.[9]
