Droid from KOTOR II
Cany anyone tell me inuniverse names of these droids: File:Drdmouse03.jpg File:Drdminelg.jpg File:Drdminesm.jpg File:Drdmouse02.jpg File:Drdmouse01.jpg File:Drdmover02.jpg File:Drdmover01.jpg
- Well, there are usually several names for each droid 'model' in the Kotor games, because they get used a few times throughout the game. So they'll be a nightmare to actually put into articles because you'll have about 4 different articles per droid model. Also, some are reused from kotorI (like the top one, it's the Rakata's sentry droid). On top of that, I don't even remember seeing most of those. Were some of those cut from the game or something? Now I think of it, most I do remember seeing first appeared in KotorI. --Fade 08:46, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Where did you get those images from? They're excellent - Kwenn
- A wonderful chap named Lord Hydronium sent them to me, apparently thery are game files.JustinGann 09:29, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)

- The second droid is the Rogue Assassin Droid from Marka Ragnos' tomb in KOTOR I. I also believe the Construction Droids from Dxun in KOTOR II, but I'll have to check that. - Sikon [Talk] 09:49, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- the construction droids from DXun in KOTOR II already have entries, the foreman, mark i, and mark II. I saw them myself, they are in the weapons cache.JustinGann 09:50, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- I recall the assassin and the silver crab (both were in Kotor I as well), but the others I have no memory of. Knowing the shortcuts they took with II, its possible they intended to introduce a load more droids, but time constraints made them use the ready-made kotor I models instead. --Fade 09:56, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- the "drdmouse02" looks like those little flying droids in Upper City Taris, don't you think?JustinGann 09:57, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)

- Sikon, that lovely beastie is under the entry assault droid Mark I, the most technical name i know for it. And Fade, I got a pic of the Telos droids, you are right, they are none of the above.JustinGann 10:31, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- By the way, if you want some high(er)-quality Kotor screengrabs, I'd be happy to help. Not right now, since I have to go somewhere, but if you leave me a message I can get them. Between all the saves I have, I can get to a lot of places ('cept for a few storyline segments like Leviathan) --Fade 10:42, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Drdminelg and Drdminesm
[3] shows the droidminelg type, but i have no idea what level that is from KOTOR II, it sounds like Peragus (mine) but maybe NOT peragus (notice Handmaiden's presence)JustinGann 13:21, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
also, the droidsm type: [4]
I assume they are in a mine somewhere, but not Peragus; again, this is KOTOR (note Kreia); this second one MAY be Peragus, as seen in following shot: [5]
If this is Peragus, how do they have lightsabres?
JustinGann 13:23, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- They're on Peragus. That's probably from early promotional shots, like the well known Revan-in-full-robes-with-sabre-on-Taris picture. In promotional shots, they tend to prat about with things like that to make the shots look good. Rather than, say, showing a sabreless Jedi in their underwear. --Fade 15:36, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Minor grammar note
I hate to be picky about other people's grammar, but you're using "whom" incorrectly in a bunch of articles. "Whom" is supposed to be used as an object in phrases like "to whom", "for whom", etc. See this page for details. Then delete this message, it's too picky to keep around. 8) — Silly Dan 16:04, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, you can use whom as an object without a preposition too. Can you give me the pages where I have misused it? I'll fix themJustinGann 16:33, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)
- Norky is one example. You can find some others by using google to search this wiki for the phrase "whom lived", which is a phrase you've used in a lot of character articles. — Silly Dan 18:46, 14 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Gavrisom Treaty Picture
From the picture you posted, it seemed like it had been cut off down the middle. You don't happen to know if there is a full picture available that shows both parties signing? Kuralyov 02:13, 7 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Birthdates
- Please don't put in unsourced birthdates into articles. Some of them are wrong, IMHO. QuentinGeorge 08:21, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Are these all based solely on the actors' ages at the time of being in their respective film? Adamwankenobi 09:23, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- If based on actors age, usually marked "c. " (approximate). Rifs said that was ok.JustinGann 09:26, 9 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- In addition, the age (wherever it came from) that you used for Ronhar Kim is definately wrong, since if he was born in 58 BBY, he would have met Palpatine at the age of 6 - which, if you look at the last page of the comic, is obviously not true. He's (at least) twenty years older. QuentinGeorge 05:26, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Birth Dates
Was wondering where you go the birth dates for characters like Rycar Ryjerd, Yarna D'Al Gargan, Wuhur, Prescott etc. I know the CCG cards don't mention it. (Also when you list their birth and death, put them in the [['s so they can go to the year as a link). ---—Unsigned comment by CBenoit (talk • contribs)

Malavar?
I noticed you redirected Molavar to Malavar and I don't think this is right. The only place I can find a mention of Molavar is in Star Wars Tales issues 22, 23 and 24, in the Nomad story and there it's repeatedly referred to as Molavar not Malavar. Also regarding the indigenous species of Molavar, Darca Nyl calls them "those Molovar" and not Malavarans in issue 24. Seeing as you edited these pages last I thought I'd ask you what your sources were. --Juha 07:41, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

Malorum
Hey Justin! I saw you added (a while back) info about Malorum being a Grand Inquisitor, but I can't find any source for that (it's not in the first three LotJ books, at least). Do you have one or can I remove it?
Cheers,
Tam 16:16, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the reply. I decided to remove the references anyway, cause i find it better not to assume stuff like this, no matter how probable it seems. For example just because he gave orders to Sancor, he could have been a High Inquisitor perhaps. As much as I'd like to see him become Grand Inquisitor, it's best to stick slavishly to the canon for now. Hope that's okay. Tam 17:49, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Crimson Cruiser?
Hi, I saw you've made an article on Crimson Jack's battlecruiser, and I was wondering where you got the name from? I've read some of the Marvel stories with it, but I couldn't find the actual name. (I assume it's something he thought up.) Also, I had made an article about it previously, and want to merge the two. If this is the actual name for it, all the better! :D VT-16 23:54, 6 April 2006 (PDT)

Force Familiar
Just wondering where you got that term (used on the Vjun page). I wouldn't mind except that it's a hyperlink.--21:39, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
- Familiar a common term in the RPG. I think it first was used for Bogga the Hutt's pet Dark Side Dragon, and also in the DSSB; iirc, the Beastwarden asl has a Force familiar creature. Its also used in NJO for Vergere in her role as the "pet" of Priestess Elan.JustinGann 22:15, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Brayl-class bulk freighter
Hi,
are you sure this ship class has a cargo capacity of 75,000 metric tons? An YT-1300, which has about 1/4 of the size of a Brayl-class bulk freighter, can only carry 100 tons (1/750!). Even a Imperial I-class Star Destroyer, which is 16-times longer than a Brayl, is limited to "only" 36,000 tons. I don't think 75,000 tons can be true. 750 tons might be correct. --Bender235 22:40, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

Format quibble
I know this isn't in the manual of style, but I noticed that several articles you've started bold the title word differently than our usual practice. While most people, when writing an article titled "thing" would write "Things were creatures from the planet...", you write "Things were creatures from the planet..." I think it looks better with the entire word in bold, myself. —Silly Dan (talk) 18:13, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Are Khommites Near-Humans? You added them to the list, so I'm just wondering what the source for that is.
Incidentally, Category:Human and Near-Human species was recently set up: as one of our alien experts, it'd be nice if you added any species you think are missing. Cheers, —Silly Dan (talk) 04:06, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Also, you added the Pau'ans and the Utai: I could see the former, but not the latter...—Silly Dan (talk)
- Thanks for the reply. Although I suspect they were getting "humanoid" and "near-human" mixed up again, I guess I'll put all three back on the list and into the proper subcategory. Pink Duros
Hey JustinGann. On the Near-Duros article, you added information about a pink skinned Duros species. What is the source for this? I have found a couple of pics that I think could be yellow Duros so I'm curious about the whole sub-species thing. Cheers. --Eyrezer 02:00, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- That's a shame. I would have liked there to be a pink one. I know there has been mention of a pink Ortolan somewhere. Even the CUSWE mentions that. --Eyrezer 06:18, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I referenced the pink mention on the Ortolan page, and read for the first time the mention of the paint. I didn't realise that the blue was not meant to be natural! I see you edited the Ortolan page to reflect the pink paint. --Eyrezer 02:21, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
Jade Moon
Hi Justin. I notice you appear to have had a hand in the creation of the Jade Moon article. We are coming up with several inconsistencies here (whimper), so I was wondering if you remembered where you got the info that the Jade Moon was a moon of Carosi XII (or Loronar, as one semireliable source says), and whether you recall if it was Carosi's only moon. Gonk (Gonk!) 16:37, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks Justin, that explanation actually makes a lot of sense. But is it true that "in the novel Planet of Twilight, a reference is made to the existence of a factory on Carosi's larger moon, implying more than one moon"? Hey Justin. Why have you put Pyronese Dragon, Dalgoni and Shade up for speedy deletion? I couldn't see anything obviously wrong with them and neither can Sikon. Please remember to specify a reason by using reason in future. Green Tentacle (Talk) 13:24, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Red pachydermoid species
Do you still have the original pics that you merged to create this pic? If so could you upload the individual images? I think it would look better to have two larger images on the page rather than that compressed one. On a side note, your article inspired me to write this one. --Eyrezer 05:25, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Since you have done a lot of work on species articles, I wondered if you could have a look at this. I'd like to put it on the species page which currently is just a list. I'd particularly be interested in comments on the Species articles and Navigating the encyclopedia sections. --Eyrezer 07:17, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Rescue glider
We couldn't find sources for the rescue glider as a canonical vehicle, or for its use on Skye, so I've deleted it for now. If there are sources other than this toy, please let me know and I'll undelete the article. (Also, we need to get permission from Rebelscum.com to use their images: the image you uploaded didn't seem to have that listed.) Cheers, —Silly Dan (talk) 02:41, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate droids?
Hmmm... I am asking you this question because I see you had a hand on one of these articles. I was readin this "47-B-series droid" and this other one "Automated repair droid". And those two articles seem to be reffering to the same droid, so I am wondering if you had any information you can share with me so I can know if to merge this suckers or leave them as they are. Hey, Justin. I was just wondering where you got the information for this edit you made to the Cerea article: [7]. Eragon/SW comparison comment
Well, Christopher Paolini, the writer of the Inheritance-quadrilogy (nevermind if you're not up to speed on this, I'm a big fan of Eragon as well, so I know the latest bits) has confessed to have gotten a lot of his ideas and plotthingies from Star Wars. But you have to excuse him for not making the analogies more subtle, since he was only fourteen when he started writing the story. He never meant to publish it in the first place, it was merely a selfindulgence until his parents suggested he shared his work with the world, something his father could help with since he owned a publishing company of his own. I could go on, but this isn't really the place. I'd have to summarize the entirety of Paolini's life, then go on praising his books, which are some of my favorites, and then go ranting about how some barbarians raped and molested the story before turning it into a movie. (I have actually once spent over hour just LISTING the mistakes... But that is, as I said, another story completely for which I actually for once have the time, knowledge and sense to pull it off...) OK, now I'm really gone... sry for keeping you all, we all have something better to do, right? ;-)

Could you put the pictures in the gallery in the Rebel pilot article into a more specific article? Images used only in article galleries (and, for that matter, image galleries in articles) are generally deleted now. Thanks, —Silly Dan (talk) 11:48, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
Eragon
I too noticed the complete Star Wars rip off in the Eragon movie, but if you pay attention there is also a ton of Lord of the Rings rip offs as well, he pretty much took two of the greatest book and movie series ever and decided he'd splice the two together and get credit for what he didn't do.Ryan Fett (For Mandalore!)20px 17:13, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Gungan Frontier
Greetings, sentient. You asked me a question about how to get images from the video game Gungan Frontier. Simply Print Screen will not work. I used a video screen capture software or screencasting software, some of which are available for free and operate under Windows; and others are available for a low cost or a trial period (Look for a list by wikipedia'ing "screencast", I personally like things with the word "Snag" on their name). I regret to inform you, I don't think I will be able to capture an image of the Bowlump any time soon: I have uninstalled the game and I don't think I have the original disks available (three house-movings since). I suggest you look for some specialized software and try to get the captures yourself, as I don't know if I can do it. I'm sorry I cannot do any more. About the pictures you upload
Hi, I noticed the wiki has many, many pictures of the most appalling quality, especially from the Marvel comics. I think they're the worst pictures of this website. Then I wondered, as they were so similar in treatment, if maybe they all were from the same user. And then I knew I was right, and that user was you. So what happened? How come they're so crappy?... They're too dark or too bright, the .jpg compression is uselessly high, they're not properly cropped, etc. Is that the paper quality? Your scanner?... What happened? (of course, it's not your fault if the colors got a bit old in 30 years)
Then I noticed that most of the pictures you upload are always crappy, and that most of the images in the category "Images of poor quality" are in fact yours. Users always have to go after you to upload a better one, if there's any. Do you realize that most of the stuff you upload is awful? Don't you see the cropping that needs to be made most of the time? Maybe you don't have the proper programs to do that?... Do you save them with Paint? Bad idead! The jpg compression is too high! (the capitalized .jpg extension I seen most of the time would therefore make sense) You should fix that or stop uploading pics, because it spoils the wiki a lot. I see that you haven't uploaded any pics in a while, so I'd advice you to not resume this unless you're prepared to improve it. Now I try to improve or replace them whenever I can, but most of the time the only thing I can do is placing the "Imagequality" and the "Crop" templates, but the amount of pics you uploaded is really big, and 95% of them (unless they have been replaced by someone else) is... you know now. Cropping is easy, but when it's too awful, it's too awful.
And don't worry, it's nothing personal, I just try to understand and make you understand. Overall it's sad because I know the time and commitment that is put in that kind of stuff. ;-) Klow 19:25, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

- I've restored the catalogue and made it a subpage of your userpage, at User:JustinGann/Catalogue of unidentified vehicles. It was apparently pared down substantially before being deleted, but the full history is there, so you should be able to find a point where it still had most of your content. jSarek 07:31, 23 October 2008 (UTC) EDIT: As for your question regarding what happened to it, apparently it was moved around several times before being deleted; it was a bear to find. And yes, since it was deleted, most of the images were probably deleted, too, though some might be recoverable through an undelete. jSarek 07:35, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- The image deletion policy is for reasons of fair use. We can't justify having copyrighted images on the Wook if they aren't being used in a manner compliant with that doctrine, which unused images sitting around aren't. jSarek 22:24, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

- I was specifically wondering when they were used with respect to dogs: horrifically pedantic, I know, but it would be nice to have canon mentions of the terms. (I think KOTOR might qualify for hounds, though: the same conversation which introduces the "top dog" idiom extends the metaphor to kath hounds.) —Silly Dan (talk) 03:49, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Redirects
Hey, JustinGann. I'm just curious, because I don't see the need, but why do you feel redirects like this are necessary? Is that a slang term used for Stormtroopers in Marvel, etc.? Greyman(Talk) 22:09, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Warning
| User warning: Fanon.
Please do not add your own fan-fiction to Wookieepedia articles. If you continue to add fanon to the site, you will be banned. Your input might be more welcome at the Star Wars Fanon Wiki. |
Nowhere does canon describe what a "clambake" is, as we know it to be OOU. Please do not continue to make these sorts of inferences when creating articles, or you will be blocked from editing. Graestan(Talk) 02:57, 21 November 2008 (UTC)
Graestan, I have no interest in working on the FanonWiki. If you feel I went too OOU and made an assumption about clambakes, so be it, but you can make that point without threats. Adminship is not meant to be a facilitation of bullying and rudeness. I have been trying to add everything from Marvel, which quite frankly uses Earth terms with Earth meanings, and if you believe that is too much of an assumption, I welcome your input, but it can be made constructively without threatening me or accusing me of fanon, which is absolute nonsense. You know perfectly well the difference between a debatable mistaken assumption and fanon. Furthermore, threatening to ban someone should not be your first resort, especially towards someone who is obsiously trying hard to add quality canon content. If you have a disagreement with how articles are written, you should address the matter in a Talk page with civility, not sling around threats, ridiculous accusations, and unsightly little stickers. If we had already discussed this and I was just being stubborn about it, then such behavior on your part might be appropriate. The type of negative communication you are displaying is the type that makes people not want to be on Wookieepedia, and sets a hostile image for our community. Adminship is a responsibility to work constructively with Wookieepedians, not be a vulture looking for weaknesses to exploit with threats and accusations. I suggest you rethink your attitude as an admin.JustinGann 09:24, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Re:Uploading images
Hey, no problem. You're copying this template, right?

- For source, please at least write the correct comic name. "Marvel Star Wars #XX" is somewhat unhelpful. Just use the name of the comic article. They usually have the form of "Star Wars XX: Comic Name"
- For author, "Marvel Star Wars" is way too vague. Just use the name of the person who penciled the comic. People like Carmine Infantino and Howard Chaykin for example. If you want to put everyone who worked on the image, including the inker, etc., that's fine too, but at the very least give the penciler's name.
- For licensing, not everything goes under "generic fair use". For images from a comic book, use Comicpanel instead.
- For cat artist, that's where you put the category of the name of the artist. So, for example, if Howard Chaykin penciled the comic, you put . If there were two artists, just put another category with the respective artist's name.
- For cat licensee, that's where you put the category of the name of the comic. So, for example, if the comic is Star Wars 11: Star Search, you put .
- For cat subject, you put the category for what the image is showing. So for an image that shows Crimson Jack, you would put .
- For cat type, you put the category for what type of image you uploaded. So, for example, an image from a comic book goes under .
That's basically it. Just try to conform to that checklist. Also, when you're uploading images, please try to crop off unnecessary space. If you can see the borders of the comic panel, or if large sections not related to the subject are still present, remove them. Cull Tremayne 04:47, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Archiving talk pages
You can archive a talk page by creating a subpage of your talk page. So you would create a page entitled User talk:JustinGann/Archive1 for example. Then just go ahead and copy as many of your talk page messages onto that page as you want. You can then delete all those messages from your main talk page. On that new archived page, make sure to indicate that its just an archived page, and that people can still contact you on your main talk page. You can look at other people's archived pages to see examples of that type of template/warning. Then, lastly, place a link to your archived talk page on your current talk page. Feel free to use the same methods other people have used to link to their archived talk pages. Cull Tremayne 00:46, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
