I will be more careful/considerate in the future and read over the rules again.

It was just that, malak was just critically injured in a duel, there were many obvious signs that he was dying, and the fact that he died after. When someone is on the floor, talking all slow and grabs their throat and dies, I doubt it is because they were force choked.
