April edition

A message from the project manager Continuing on Project Wormhead! Hello again! It's April, and that means it's time for an update. I avoided doing this on April 1st because of all the craziness going on, but here we are. There's no denying that we're behind. I'm very busy in RL and juggling several wiki-related projects also, so I haven't been contributing as much either. That's okay, though, as long as we catch up (i.e. summer, as a lot of folks will be out of school and all that.) There's also a new way to contribute, and something that everyone can do. Since we don't have a timeline of appearance/sources yet, I started one on the second page. I didn't give it a very large list to start with, so fill in the gaps whenever you see them. If someone wants to start doing a similar segment for sources, that'd be great. I hope that we'll get back on course with the expansions soon, but regardless, let's see how April plays out. A message from the project manager A belated update on Project Wormhead Project Wormhead! Sorry about the delay in getting this out. I was on vacation at the beginning of the month and forgot about it. First, let me thank a number of people for their efforts on the project this past month: Greyman, for his work on the Marvel expansions. Jaina Solo added information from Star Wars Union, and a couple other people have made smaller edits as well. That's very encouraging and I thank all of you for your help. For the moment, I have to say that Luke isn't my priority at the moment-I'm working pretty hard on finishing Wraith Squadron, but once that's done, I will be back to work . In other news, Project Wormhead has now surpassed the actual Luke Skywalker article in content and will soon pass up Palpatine. It'll probably take us another month to pass up Mr. Horn, though. A message from the project manager The latest on Project Wormhead! It's summer and that means, at least for me, that a lot of things need to happen over the next couple months if Luke is going to be a GA this year. I don't even entertain any notions of FA, because there's simply too many obscure/minor appearances and sources. I will be working heavily on the novels, and I know others are focusing on comics, games, and whatever those Missions things fall under. Thanks Xwing. For this month, I'm going to hammer out the rest of the Young Jedi Knights series first and then progress to the Bantam novels whenever I get to them. That means if you want to work on a Bantam novel, it probably should be done this month. ;-) I hope everyone enjoys their summer and finds a chance to participate. • Jaina, when you have some spare time, would you mind taking a look at Sharr Latt? Thanks. Also, there's an unsourced statement in Jaina Solo, in the relationships section under Kyp Durron. "Jaina decided to apprentice herself to Jedi Master Kyp Durron during the Yuuzhan Vong war. Despite their age difference, Jaina and Kyp developed a mutual attraction towards one another. The revelation of their relationship shocked many in her family, especially her father, Han." I'm not sure where exactly this comes from; I checked Enemy Lines and Dark Journey, but I didn't find it. End of 2008 status report: Wormie

• Just in case you're curious as to where this little project stands, here are the statistics:

1. Total length: 309 kilobytes, which is 90 KB longer than the actual Luke Skywalker article. Does not include material on the second page.
2. 110 sources crossed off the expansion list.
3. Unique references: 143
4. Net growth over 2008: 180 KB.

I realize that the original goal I set—which was to nominate Luke for GA by the end of 2008—was not accomplished. For one, I didn't know exactly how much stuff there is out there on Luke. Turns out, about half of all continuity. Two, I've been distracted with other, smaller projects, particularly over the past few months. The new Triage system

After the Inquisitorius' most recent meeting, it was decided to enact a triage system for dealing with the large number of nominations on the FAN page. The Triage page has been set up in the Inquisitorius forum to make it easier for Inqs to see what nominations are best focused on for clearing out the nomination page. Kyp Durron - Topps Cards

Hi JS,

I saw that you were on a vacation; I will try not to take up too much of your time. Basically I'm working on expanding Kyp Durron's article and have reached an impasse when it comes to the Topps Star Wars Finest trading card collection. I wouldn't have known about it at all if not for the image that was uploaded by you in July 2006.

Anyway, along those lines, I was wondering if you had the complete set, if Kyp appears in more of them, if they're available online in a gallery somewhere, etc etc etc. It would be great if you could help me out; if not, no worries! It was three years ago that you uploaded the image ;)

Jaina Solo

Hey Jaina, there are various grammar mistakes/wording issues that don't mean what I think is intended. The very first example I see is: "Suspecting she would seek refuge among the Lost Tribe, Luke attempted to glean the location of their homeworld from her, but to no avail." The last "her" you mention is Abeloth, so it sounds like that's to whom you're referring. And since that doesn't make sense, the reader's mind next jumps to Jaina herself, since that's who the article is about, before we finally realize that the "her" is referring to Vestara. There are myriad other similar wording tweaks/mistakes throughout the Ascension info that start to add up. Also, one quick fact-check—IIRC they did not meet with Wan in the library before they went to Korriban; didn't they only meet with her after Dromund Kaas? As for the P&T, one of us Inqs should've caught this earlier, but there is virtually no information in it from the entire Fate of the Jedi series. Outside of the "Relationships" section, the P&T needs a major update for info from all of the FotJ novels. A quick glance at the P&A tells me that that section needs to be brought up to date as well.   • Looks pretty good. A few things to watch: remember to use the mdash and that the {{quote}} template should be used whenever there are only two speakers; otherwise, there were just some random typos and such that I cleaned up. Anyway, I think that section is all good to go now; good job. :) One thing I'd suggest, though, is adding an image or two—it'd be good to break up the solid blocks of prose, and we certainly have plenty of relevant images available.
