Test

Thanks for experimenting with Wookieepedia. Your test worked and has been removed. Please see the help page on editing if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If you need to make further test edits, please use Wookieepedia:Jundland Wastes. Thanks. —Cal Jedi8px (Personal Comm Channel) 16:34, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

  • Please do not continue to add nonsensical links into the Atton Rand article. Such actions can be considered vandalism and may be punishable by a block from an administrator. Thank you for your cooperation.—Cal Jedi8px (Personal Comm Channel) 16:50, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

I was actually gonna make the unidentified female jedi into a new page and add info to it. Where in help page on editing does it say how to make a new page, because I am not seeing it. User Talk: DarthRevan1173

Picture

You uploaded this File:Darth Bane Clone Wars.jpg, but it's not yet in any article. Could you place it in an article, if that's possible? --Station7 15:31, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

It's now on the Ghosts of Mortis page. --DarthRevan1173 09:46, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

I think the administrators will remove it, unless you say something about this character in the Behind the scenes, otherwise, it will be removed completedly. --Station7 15:51, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

He is already mentioned in behind Behind the scenes along with Revan. Also added a pic of Revan there. --DarthRevan1173 09:57, January 21, 2012 (UTC)

Vindican‎

Please stop adding poor quality edits in the Vindican‎ article. The article is currently a good article, which means that it needs to have certain quality standards. If you like to test edit, please use the Jundland Wastes sandbox. Thanks, JangFett (Talk) 02:22, January 30, 2012 (UTC)

When uploading images, please follow the instructions on Special:Upload. Otherwise your uploads will be deleted. Also, do not falsify sourcing information. Those uploads will instantly be deleted and you will be blocked. Thank you for your cooperation. 1358 (Talk) 02:29, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

Dengar

Darth Revan 1173,

I recently updated the article Dengar. I would like to point out I did not write any of the butt comments. I merely wrote that his armor was not Stormtrooper armor, but a combination of snow and stormtrooper armor. You then reverted all of the butt comments, and mine got mixed in. I will replace my edit about his armor in the next 5 minutes unless you purposely also reverted my addition about the armor. Thank you very much.

--Master Tej 18:58, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry about that didn't see those just saw the butt comments. I won't revert your addition.

Sith Emperor

y do you keep changing my edit Bohleyc 19:23, March 22, 2012 (UTC)

First off sign your comments. Second because it is incorrect. The Emperor was thought to have been destroyed after a seemingly fatal duel with the Knight. In reality, he had possessed a new avatar to replace the one lost on Voss—it was this facade that the Jedi Knight killed—this was confirmed by a holomail message sent by the Emperor's Hand to the new Emperor's Wrath. Re:Retcon

His death has been retconned by that TCW episode, yes, but that's not how the tag is used. In the article, his retcon death is already being taken care of via {{TCWRetcon}} since it disrupts the timeline. JangFett (Talk) 01:10, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Insider 114

Hi, Revan! I see that you have a copy of Star Wars Insider 114. Apparently, the article "Class Wars" mentions the Flesh Raider species in some way. Would you mind checking when you get a chance to tell me what it says about them? I'd really appreciate any information it has, plus what page number(s) it's on. Thanks a ton! ~Savagelink=User talk:SavageBob 20:50, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

On page 28 in Star Wars Insider 114 it says The Consular begins his story as a Padawan trainee at the rebuilt Jedi Temple on Tython. The planet's native population has begged the Jedi for help in defending them against a brutal group of mercenaries known only as the Flesh Raiders. The Jedi Council decided not to intervene, preferring to stay out of local affairs on Tython. Will the Consular follow the will his Masters or strike out on his own against the Flesh Raiders? The article is pages 28-31. DarthRevan1173 21:05, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Wait, say what?!? Did it say "he"? Cade Calrayn 20px 21:11, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

The section I typed came straight out the the article word for word. It does refer to the Consular as a male. DarthRevan1173 21:14, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Interesting; thanks, Revan! It's obviously very preliminary material, since the Flesh Raiders are not mercenaries in the final story, and the reason for Jedi non-intervention in Kalikori is not because it's "local affairs" but because the Twi'leks of Kalikori are there illegally. Finally, the Consular story has nothing to do with "following the Masters or striking out against the Flesh Raiders alone" or whatever. FOr these reasons, Cade, I wouldn't put any stock in the "he" pronoun -- it's all obviously been superseded by the game itself. ~Savagelink=User talk:SavageBob 21:57, June 2, 2012 (UTC)
    • Good. Yeah, the Knight's the one who deals with the Flesh Raider uprising. Cade Calrayn 20px 22:05, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Timeline of books

I posted something on the talk page before doing that. Nobody replied. After coming from working on the Timeline of media, it can be hard to readjust to red not meaning unpublished. Was the revision harmful? Consistency is important for professionalism. I will wait one hour for a reply and then revert it. After that, voice your objections on the talk page. I have saved a copy of it's current state.
Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 04:06, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

It was not harmful but if your gonna do a major change like that you need to put it to a vote. Most people on here aren't on at this time so you need to wait for them to respond and talk to an admin here and see what they say. DarthRevan1173 04:13, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

With all due respect:
Talk to an admin? I come from Wikipedia. We have no admins there. To what degree should I talk to an admin--do I have to talk to one about everything? When should I talk to one. I just need specifics to prevent further problems. And about the waiting thing, I've waited days for people to reply to some of my talk things. I'm beginning to wonder if anybody even reads those.
Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 04:19, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

It's 11:22 PM here. Maybe I'm not in my right mind.
Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 04:24, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

On major changes like you want to do you need to talk to one. On how long to wait people reply when they can and it's the same time where I am. DarthRevan1173 04:27, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Basically I need to know who to talk to if I'm going to talk to an administrator. On Wikipedia, we have user-run project groups dedicated to maintaining specific areas of the site. Who is basically the Leland Chee of this site? I don't know which administrator I should talk to. I'm willing to cooperate with people, but I need input. I think it's ridiculous to wait for days without reply and then wonder if you should do something or not. If you can help me, great! I appreciate it.
Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 04:31, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

I would say User:JangFett he's the administrator I have had to deal with the most. I would say leave him a message on his talk page and he should get back to you withing two days if not sooner. DarthRevan1173 04:37, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

My bad User:JangFett isn't an admin, but he may be able to help you. Wookieepedia:Administrators there is a list of administrators here you can talk to. DarthRevan1173 04:40, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Alright, thanks. You're the first user I've had a productive discussion with. I'm going to temporarily revert the changes so I can copy my source. That was kind of a pain to do. I want to be able to just do it if I get a green light on it.
Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 04:42, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Allright no prob I always help a fellow wookieepedian when I can. DarthRevan1173 04:45, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Guess I didn't have to completely undo it. Cool.
I guess I just went ahead and did it because I didn't see how it hurt anything. I saw all gain and no loss. I figured the only resistance might come from people who were too used to the old color code. Well since you're in the same timezone, goodnight.
Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 04:50, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Many would oppose because they were used to it. Some would oppose since it actually helps identify the differences. Have a good night. DarthRevan1173 04:56, June 3, 2012 (UTC)

Lightsabers

Please do not create articles for every character's lightsaber. Unless there is something truly notable about the saber, like multiple owners, special powers, or unique history, lightsabers belong in the power and abilities section of articles. There are numerous TC's that express this: Wookieepedia:Votes for deletion/The Dark Woman's Lightsaber and Forum:TC:Individual lightsaber. Cade Calrayn 20px 01:56, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

As User:Bella'Mia just said on Satele Shan's lightsaber Unfortunately, articles on individual lightsabers are indeed allowed, and quite the growing list can be found in Category:Personal lightsabers. Plus am in the process of adding info to it. DarthRevan1173 02:00, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Timeline of Books

Look at the description at the top of the article. "It is not for comics or short stories." I did not get rid of the eBooks. Lost Tribe of the Sith, The Hive, Ylesia (e-book)... they're all still there. What I did was remove the short stories. eg: Mist Encounter, Last One Standing, etc. Basically, I summarized the definition of eBook as a short story with an ISBN. That's the simplest definition I can come up with. There was some debate on the talk pages. That's the only definition I could come up with that excluded the short stories that aren't novellas. Right now, I'm doing heavy work on the Timeline of short stories. It's nice because nobody else really bothers to mess with that page, so I can basically do whatever I want without pissing people off.—Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 03:42, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

Was just clarifying what all was going on. Not really sure why the included the Dark Empire audio there. Most people prob don't even notice that page. I am following it, but can't argue with what you are doing there. DarthRevan1173 03:52, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

Well, a lot of people don't bother studying the short stories enough to do anything with them. You basically have to find your niche. You find something to do that no one else is doing. Then you don't have to worry about too many people being in the kitchen. Back on Wikipedia, most of my work was done in fern articles. It's something I'm fairly knowledgeable about that most people aren't or don't care about. It was a wide open place that I could just expand. I'd go into parallels between this and Evolution, but I doubt that you'd really be that interested. haha :P —Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 04:23, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

My own expertise is mostly in novel and reference books. Wouldn't mind hearing about the parallels. DarthRevan1173 04:31, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

It parallels Evolution because when something has evolved the ability to take advantage of the environment in a new way, a whole new niche opens up. Suppose you have birds that eat nuts. They all have beaks that are perfectly shaped for eating nuts. Then you get a bird that has a mutated beak which allows it to eat insects. Now that bird doesn't have to compete with the other birds for a food source. The mutation becomes an advantage and the bird is able to reproduce more. Pretty soon, a whole new species of insect-eating birds has evolved separate from the nut-eating birds. Like the insect-eating bird, I've developed the ability to work on articles nobody else does. Since there is nobody else working there, I can work freely and become more of a specialist for that area, just like the insect-eating birds eventually evolved into a new species.—Eшσҡ $їтӈ Lōяƌ 18:43, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

That's a good comparison and very true. DarthRevan1173 21:07, June 13, 2012 (UTC)

Pall

Hey, just to clarify the difference between Pall and Vader, Vader was redeemed before he died. He turned away from the Sith, killed his master, and died a Jedi. Pall did not—he died as a Sith Lord with some regrets, was redeemed spiritually thousands of years later, but never became a Jedi once again. The Jedi infobox isn't for light-side characters—it's for members of the Jedi Order or people who were considered Jedi at the time of their last appearance. Pall died a Sith and was still a Sith at the time of his last appearance. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 03:36, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

True but Yuthura Ban was never seen accepted back to the order, yet she's allowed the infobox. You can't say one can have it and the other can't. DarthRevan1173 03:41, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

Same with Dak Vesser, and Thalia May. They were never fully accepted back into the order and yet they have the infobox. DarthRevan1173 03:45, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

  • Yes she is. In the light side option, which is considered canonical, she returns to Dantooine to resume her Jedi training. We even have a screenshot of her there. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 03:46, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

Revan visits Korriban after the Attack on the Jedi Enclave. It has been said the cannonical visit of the planets is Dantooine, Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, then Leviathan after the destruction of the Enclave, and Korriban. How can she retrain on Dantooine when the Enclave was destroyed before she was redeemed. DarthRevan1173 03:54, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

  • If you want to make that argument about Ban, feel free, but that doesn't change the facts in Ajunta Pall's case. Darth Trayus(Trayus Academy) 03:55, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

True and I shall do that. DarthRevan1173 03:58, June 18, 2012 (UTC)

  • If I might interject, even if Revan goes to Korriban after the Leviathan encounter, which we on Wookieepedia use as the case due to the order suggested in the strategy guide, the option remains to redeem her, in which she still says that she would return to the Jedi.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 02:18, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

While that is true, with the enclave destroyed before she is redeemed. That means we never see that she rejoined the Jedi, it's just assumed that she rejoined the Order. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 02:23, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

  • Indeed, on Wookieepedia, unless otherwise confirmed in another source, we always assume 100% light-side. For example, 100% light-side says that Revan allowed Sunry's execution on Manaan. Yet the CSWE says that Revan successfully got Sunry off the hook, which is possible only through choosing a dark-side option or ignoring the Republic's computer systems. But anyway, Ban has not appeared in any source save her trading card and Uthar Wynn's entry in the CSWE, which merely states that she was defeated, not killed outright. And you have to defeat her before redeeming her anyway.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 02:56, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
    • I'm not arguing the fact that she was defeated and redeemed just that before I changed her page it was said that she rejoined the Order even though there is no source proving that she did. Didn't know that she had her own trading card though. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 03:04, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
      • True. Good work, this will be reflected when I get her article to FA. Thanks.—Jedi Kasra (comlink) 03:10, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Articles

Hey there!

You mentioned proper sourcing --- 3642 BBY is actually barely sourced at all; if you check out some of the other year articles here, you can get an idea of how to source a year article (it's surprisingly tricky!).

Is there an article for the battle where the Republic political convoy is attacked? If it's a battle, it seems like there should be an article on it.

A really important thing in articles is context. Instead of just mentioning Shae Viszla's name, the article should indicate who he is --- ie, "the Mandalorian warrior Shae Viszla" or something. Also, is there any context you can give on the attack on the convoy? Menkooroo (talk) 16:48, July 23, 2012 (UTC)

I haven't been able to find an article for the battle on the Republic political envoy. I assume it hasn't been created yet. I do know it was mentioned in The Journal of Master Gnost-Dural (real-life book) which I have yet to aquire. I will see what Sources are needed for the year and add where needed, and work on the context in Shae Vizla's brother, and Master Aurei Eadon. Thank you for the help and your time. Battle of Thule

Sorry, I didn't mean to revert your edit on the article. I accidentally clicked the link while browsing and didn't realise that I'd done it until I saw it in the RC otherwise I would have reverted myself. - Cavalier One20px(Squadron channel) 22:04, July 27, 2012 (UTC)

It's no prob. Didn't mean to sound harsh if I did when I reverted it. Just seems that most of the time when I do a few edit's like this some other users like to revert since they can, even though there is no policy against the edit. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 22:08, July 27, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Sources

Yes, as long as the information posted there is stated to have come directly from Lucasfilm. If it's used for references, please note that {{WebCite}} should be used. Hope that helps. CC7567 (talk) 08:29, July 31, 2012 (UTC)

I'm trying to use a paragraph from it as a quote for Star Wars 1313. Didn't see if it said it directly came from Lucasfilm will check. Was in interview between Colin Campbell and creative director Dominic Robilliard. How would I source it for a quote if it checks out? DarthRevan1173 (talk) 09:02, July 31, 2012 (UTC)

Pictures

I have a question about pictures. There are several pictures I would like to use in articles but, when I go to upload them, I can not find them. What is the deal? Matt Seay (talk) 04:34, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

Do you have them saved on your comp? If you are uploading them from you comp make sure you know where the pics are located that way you can upload them and be sure to have the correct source and appearances. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 04:40, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

I do have all that. Do I need to do something else when I look for the pics when I am adding them? Matt Seay (talk) 04:46, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

Are you using the correct license with the image? Other than not having the correct license for it, or a source the only other thing I can think of is someone already uploaded the same image that you are trying to upload. Don't forget the file size can't exceed 10mb. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 04:49, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

  • The image I am trying to upload of an Imperial Uniform cap, for the Article Imperial officer's disk. The image came from starwars.com, does that count as fair use? Matt Seay (talk) 04:53, August 1, 2012 (UTC)
    • Does it say on the site if the image comes from the movie or if it comes from a reference book or something. It can however if it was in a movie you should use theatrical film screenshot. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 04:57, August 1, 2012 (UTC)
  • It's just a reference photo, all the picture is, is the hat in front a white background. Matt Seay (talk) 04:59, August 1, 2012 (UTC)
    • I would say that it would be fair use could try generic fair use and see if that helps. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 05:08, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

I think that I will. I have created a few articles related to Kotor and would like to see them brought to status someday. So I just add my name to the list then and where do I go to look at what I need to do to make the article a CA or FA or GA? DarthRevan1173 (talk) 05:05, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Absolutely, no edit is too small. The leader of the group has not been here for some time, and a few of the people on the members list are actually contributing, you know how is is… I was here on an off for a year, as well, though I am on a more steady path now. The focus is promotion and maintenance, basically, getting any and every article to some status and maintaining them. Take a look through the FA, GA, and CA lists and see if any of the articles need updating, anything from new info, correct referencing, and correcting the way characters are called goes a long way.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 05:37, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Allright will do. Should game mechanics be used on duel pages. I created a few duel pages that I would like to see get status one day and am not sure if I use game mechanics on them. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 05:42, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Game mechanics such as? Typically, game mechanics are something, if noteworthy enough, is applied to the BTS. We have some Duel FA and GAs, check those out to see how you can do yours. One other thing, I added Mira to the people on Surik's side in the article on the Duel in the Sith Academy because Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide confirms she was there. You might also be interested in reviewing articles on the GAN, FAN, and CAN pages. CA is an excellent place to start, if you want to start off writing small articles. We currently have about 4 or 5 GANs on the page that can be reviewed. Just take your time, no one is in any hurry.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 05:56, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Will do. What I meant was do I have to use GMLS and stuff like that. The plan for now is to get the articles that I have created for Kotor to CA then FA then GA taking time doing it and doing them one at a time. Thanks for the add totally forgot about that. Will check the visual guides and see if there is any info I can add to the articles. Feel free to edit the articles and help how you see fit. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 06:03, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Sounds good. Remember that CAs cannot exceed 250 words, and GAs cannot exceed 1,000. The site always assumes 100% light-side completion, unless otherwise specified, and also assumes the order that the strategy guides recommend, so you were correct in placing those templates there. Also, I noticed that you've been uploading and using pics from KotOR of "Mullet Man" Revan with a blue lightsaber. No problem with the lightsaber, just remember that he also used a violet one, as well, according to this image here. As for Mullet Man, while I am 99% sure that BioWare based his face in TOR on Mullet Man, we can't say with absolute certainty until confirmed in an actual source. I plan on asking Leland Chee on his FB page on Aug. 14th, when he'll be on there live, and I also plan on asking Drew Karpyshyn again. Feel free to ask them, as well, as that would go a long way with the article on this site related to Revan, espoecially since JethLordMaster and I are working on his article. But still, the point is, we need a canonical source that says it was indeed Mullet Man.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 06:10, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
    • For example, until the CSWE came out and said that Vaklu was executed by Talia's troops, we assumed that the Exile convinced the Queen to spare the General. The difference is noted in Surik's article.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 06:15, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

True. May start with GA since I am sure the articles exceed 250 words not sure if they exceed 1000 so got to start counting lol. Will ask them so we have a source. While back I traded a few emails with Karpyshyn about Revan's fate and he comfirmed that they didn't kill him that way if they wanted to use him again they could. Unfortunately since my comp had a few bugs at the time the emails have been deleted, so I will ask him again about his fate to comfirm and upload them. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 06:20, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

  • Sounds good. I'll resend the e-mail I sent him a few weeks ago, as well.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 06:25, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

He should reply in two weeks time. He did for me the first few times then the last three I sent him he replied in a week. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 06:28, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Pre nom review

OK, it does need some work, but I am confident you can do it. For starters, their needs to be an intro, basically a summary of the bio. The body needs sourcing in appropriate places, feel free to ask me on FB or here if you need help. The quote in "The Duel" section seems unnecessarily long, perhaps you could cut it down some. Linking in the quotes is generally frowned upon, though linking to the person who said the quote can go either way. I'm gonna have to do a little work on it, but see this article for a general idea on what to cut back on and how to summarize the past events. Perhaps a little of the aftermath, notably the first paragraph of that section, can go into the section about the duel. There are other, although few, FAs and GAs about duels, seek them out to get a better idea of what to do, as well. The info itself is solid, just needs sourcing. Let me know when you've taken care of some of these. Good job so far, though. Just don't get discouraged. I did not the first time I nominated Malak, and there are others who have been through similar experiences.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 02:02, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

  • The BTS could also use a little expansion, and remember that once referred to, we usually refer to a character by their surname, or an adjective or pronoun. Such as Jolee Bindo, then Bindo throughout the rest of the article.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 02:08, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

Allright will do. May need some help will ask when I do. How often should I put a source in? DarthRevan1173 (talk) 02:10, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

  • Good work so far. I'll do some editing soon, you can note the differences. When sourcing, source in appropriate places, for example, the game doesn't give the source for the dates, but the resource guides do, so source it to something like the NEC or the KotOR CG. You'll find that I sourced the fact that the planet was called Rakata Prime then to the NEC.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 05:19, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

Ah yea forgot about that. Most of the time when I think of the planet I think of Lehon since that's what it was identified as in Darth Bane: Path of Destruction. I saw that and I shall note the differences. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 05:24, August 3, 2012 (UTC)

order

Hey. Do those articles still need {{K2order}}? I just meant that it should be placed after the intro and table of contents. I have no idea whether it's necessary or not; I was more saying that it shouldn't be at the "top" of the page. Menkooroo (talk) 05:22, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

I was looking at the other event articles in the First Jedi Purge and mine were the only ones that had the order so I don't think it is needed. May need to add game mechanics though not sure. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 05:25, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Mira Caption

The caption you added seems a bit lengthy. I think it could be shortened. Do you think you can find a good way to do so? Matt Seay (talk) 22:42, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Its how it is describe in the The Ultimate Visual Guide: Updated and Expanded it will be fine on the file page itself, but I will cut it down on Mira if I can find a way to do so and still say the same thing. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 22:45, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • Okay, I was just asking. Matt Seay (talk) 22:46, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Didn't mean to sound snippy if I did. Just been distracted with figuring out how I'm gonna get Duel on the Temple of the Ancients and a few other articles I have created to GA status. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 22:51, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • No problem, i was just asking that question. No worries. Matt Seay (talk) 22:59, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

You have any ideas how to improve my articles? I have done everthing I can think of to improve them as best I could. May have to remove the current image on Duel in the Ancient Grove since while they did show what Revan looks like in The Old Republic. We still have no source showing us what he looked like in Kotor. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 23:02, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • The best I can figure for that image is that face is the closet to what he looks like in SWTOR. Long hair and the face is similar. But beyond that I think it is pretty good. If it needs to be replaced try to find one that obscures his face. Matt Seay (talk) 23:06, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • While it is the closest to his known description during that time. It still has not been said by any offical sources that "Mullet Man" as many on here like to refer to him as is what he looks like during that time. Something tells me even if we get one with an obscured face. It still wouldn't be accepted, unfortunately. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 23:17, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, is that caption on Mira directly from the Guide? We're not allowed to say things verbatim. NaruHina Talk 14px 23:09, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • Yea it's straight from the guide. I shortened it on her page and the full thing is on the file page description. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 23:13, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

OK, just remember that you don't need to phrase captions exactly as they are captioned in the source for the future. NaruHina Talk 14px 23:19, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • Allright and if your wondering why I reverted your edit on the file is it's the whole saying straight from the page in the guide. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 23:24, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

We can't have that anywhere. Writing out the whole thing there without specially designating that the caption is copyrighted with a certain template is the same kind of bad as having the whole thing appear in the article. NaruHina Talk 14px 23:28, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

That's Okay. No worries. NaruHina Talk 14px 23:35, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Mira on Korriban

Hmm, in the previous editions of the guide, Mira is said to have been fighting that Sith on in the Academy on Korriban. This new one does not. We might have a problem here… This new update doesn't confirm or deny that she did not fight him there.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 23:17, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

  • The background does not resemble the sith academy, not much to go on I know. The thing is, how can something say it is one thing but look like another? Matt Seay (talk) 23:22, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
    • I don't see a problem. They changed the caption so it doesn't mention Korriban, but they did not say that the fight took place on Nar Shaddaa. it just says that Mira was based there, which is true. We can source that it was on Korriban to earlier editions of the book. NaruHina Talk 14px 23:26, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
      • That's what I'm thinking. We can't say one way or another, we have to go by earlier information, not our fault the editors overlooked this. And the game vs. what is seen in comics and artwork is always a different thing.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 23:29, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
  • It is just a case of conflicting sources is all. If we just say, "Mira fighting a Sith Assassin." then source it to the book, that should be okay. Matt Seay (talk) 23:33, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Revan

I haven't read the novel yet… is it a controversial issue or something? It would seem pretty clear cut to me.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 03:17, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know but it may be to other users here. I know on Meetra Surik it says she's a Jedi Master and in the novel's dramatis personae it says she's a Jedi Knight. In the dramatis it says Revan's a Jedi Master yet his article doesn't reflect this. I have raised this question on his talk page and no one responded. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 03:25, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

This is why Meetra Surik's article reflects she's a Jedi Master. Revan has been published and we now have a fuller understanding of Meetra Surik. We should finally recognize her as a Jedi Master. When we eventually meet her character for the first time in Part Two of Revan, which takes place shortly after KotOR 2, she is wearing Jedi Master robes—obviously indicative of her choice to assume that title for herself and to train her party members as Jedi. But in addition to this subjective interpretation, it has been confirmed to me by email correspondence with Drew Karpyshyn that both she and Revan "were clearly Jedi Masters based on their accomplishments, and I'm sure at some point they would have been recognized by the Order as such." So there we have it: Meetra Surik was indeed a Jedi Master. I think it only right that we soon edit the page to reflect this fact more conclusively. Since there have been no objections—and this, being a week after my initial suggestion—I have gone ahead and made the few appropriate changes to the article. Master Dakari

When I said I got an Email from Karpyshyn comfirming Revan's not dead everyone demanded comfirmation. Yet they seemed to overlook that. Took that bit straight from Meetra Surik's talk page. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 03:42, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

  • Then this shall be reflected in the article, when it's done. I'm shooting for the end of this year/beginning of next year.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 04:54, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

Cool. If you need any help with the articles I,d be happy to help however I can. I try to the articles in any era better if I can, but I mainly specialize in the Kotor stuff. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 05:02, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Upload file

It looks like it's working for me; I can select a Licensing template just fine. Are you sure that it's loading properly for you? CC7567 (talk) 06:45, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

The proper fields show up. It recognizes the image I want to upload lets me fill out source and description, but when I click license it doesn't load. May be my net connection. If it fails to load this time, I'm just gonna wait till a later time to upload them. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 06:50, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

  • I would check with Grunny or Xd1358, as they have a more technical backround on wikis and would be able to find out what the problem is. CC7567 (talk) 07:16, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Unidentified Female Jedi (Jedi Civil War)

Hey, might I suggest an alternate name for Unidentified Female Jedi (Jedi Civil War)? Such as, Unidentified Female Jedi (Atton Rand) ? Since there are many unid'd female Jedi in the JCW.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 04:14, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Haven't really thought of it before, but yea that will make it easier to identify her. Thanks for the new name. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 04:18, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Took care of that I think. Changed the name to the current one on Rand and Surik. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 05:26, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Project

I need a Wookieepedia project, haven't had much to do, need something to work on here on the wiki. Any ideas of what I can undertake? Matt Seay (talk) 01:12, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

It all depends on what you want to do and where you think you will be the most help. You could join WP:KOTOR if you want to help with the Knights of the Old Republic project.

  • I guess I can, the areas I know most about are the films, KOTOR, the clone wars and things related to the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight saga. Matt Seay (talk) 01:18, August 7, 2012 (UTC)
  • Theres also WP:TCW if you want to join that they don't have one yet devoted to the films, for Dark Forces/Jedi Knight saga it would be WP:VG. Could look at the category WookieeProjects for more ideas of what you might want to join. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 01:26, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

Okay thanks man, I am also looking to improve articles and the site over all. Matt Seay (talk) 01:28, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

No prob. Good to hear the site benefits from every user that helps improve all articles anyway they can. DarthRevan1173 (talk)

Re:Revan's fate

I also received an email from him… I would not, since he is no longer affiliated with BioWare. But then again, maybe a BTS note with the email would do. BTW, he told me that he didn't know who to ask about Revan's facial model, and that I should ask the TOR forums.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 01:44, August 9, 2012 (UTC)

Allright I'll do that when I get back later. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 01:49, August 9, 2012 (UTC)

  • You could upload it to Flickr or another picture site, and then place it as a link in the ref. See here.—Jedi Kasra ("Indeed.") 13:53, August 9, 2012 (UTC)

Does flickr allow you to black out your email address? DarthRevan1173 (talk) 20:16, August 9, 2012 (UTC)

Kyle Katarn's third lightsaber

Go ahead—those are the only appearances I remember. Have at it!--ARC Commander Colt (talk) 04:32, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

Allright will do. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 04:34, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

Year article dates

There are actually templates for the infobox refs for the years expressed in dating systems aside from BBY. They are {{YearMathTC}}, {{YearMathRu}}, and {{YearMathGRS}}. NaruHina Talk 14px 07:05, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

  • Didn't know that was just using the ref's from one of the years I created that no one challenged or changed. I will be using those from now on. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 07:11, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

Jakoli

Thanks for fixing my edit to Jakoli. How do you do that to the quote? Null-5 (N-5) Prudii (talk) 23:00, August 11, 2012 (UTC)

No prob just added the Quote template. Also fixed your userbox image using the file image template be easier if you look them up since if I put them here it won't show you the coding used for them. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 23:12, August 11, 2012 (UTC)

An Apology

Do take this as a warning, but know it's going to appear ten shades meaner than I intend. I'm telling you for the last time. Do not copy directly from sources into articles. Especially when the part you're taking does not even make sense on its own, as you did with Xiizor. I see you did this for Xiizor, Anaakin Solo, Exaar Kun (he did not get to make that clone), Duuurga, Duurga, Maara Jade, and Chewbaacca. The Wook can get in serious trouble for just taking what's written in the source and passing it off as our own. It is against the law. And after I told you that putting the caption of an image from a source on our copy of that image was bad, I thought you would understand that. If you don't want to write the article yourself—or even just write one yourself then copy it around where applicable—then do not write it. NaruHina Talk 14px 07:26, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

  • Didn't think of it at the time, but I am working on them now though. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 07:40, August 12, 2012 (UTC)
    • I think that I have re-worded them enough. COuld you take a second look? DarthRevan1173 (talk) 07:52, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Trivia

That sounds find to add. In general, trivia covers connections drawn by users instead of authors or official sources, so statements from authors and sourcebooks are normally good to go, provided that they can be properly sourced. CC7567 (talk) 08:02, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

  • Allright jsut wanted to make sure it would meet rules. Will add it in bts section on Annihilation. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 08:04, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Picture for my User box

I wish to upload an image of myself to use on my user infobox, but I keep getting some weird error message about spam and it won't let me upload. What so you think I should do? Matt Seay (talk) 21:49, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

  • Did you use the Licesnse My own image in the public domain and don't forget to put in the source your username. DarthRevan1173 (talk) 23:01, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I used the "Licesnse My own image in the public domain" and no i did not put my username as the source, that may be the problem. Thanks. Matt Seay (talk) 23:03, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

I got another error message that said my action had been blocked because it was harmful and that I should see an admin. I am starting to think that somebody does not want me to upload images to the wiki. Matt Seay (talk) 23:08, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

I asked him and he directed me to someone, I think they may be able to help. Matt Seay (talk) 23:19, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

yeah, btw, how did you get that Yoda thing for your talk page? Matt Seay (talk) 23:24, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

  • I actually just copy pasted it from another user's talk page. Just hit edit on my talkpage and copy the section if you want it on yours. User:DarthRevan1173 Long live Lord Revan 23:30, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Okay, for a second, I thought that the edit button wasn't showing up lol. Thanks man. Matt Seay (talk) 23:34, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Adding Images

Okay, I got the picture of me uploaded. I have a couple pictures I wanna add. One is of Bail Organa's from Revenge of the Sith and the other is of an Imperial Officer's Disk on an officer's belt, thing is when I try to source it, I can not remember the full name of the site but I know that the images are free. What should I do? Matt Seay (talk) 03:30, August 13, 2012 (UTC)

Okay, looks like I may have to do that. May The Force Be With You. 03:40, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
