Duurga was a clone of the Hutt Durga Besadii Tai, created by Grand Admiral Thrawn between 11 ABY and 25 ABY. Thrawn enjoyed arranging arm-wrestling competitions between Duurga and the clone Chewbaacca, which ended after Chewbaacca tore out one of Duurga's arms.

Duurga was a clone created from genetic samples of the Hutt[3] crime lord[4] Durga Besadii Tai that were collected by the clone Luuke Skywalker[3] between 11 ABY and 25 ABY.[1] Following Skywalker's inability to retrieve a biological sample of the ghost Sith Lord Exar Kun for his master, Grand Admiral Thrawn, he successfully tried to appease Thrawn by giving him a sample of Durga, which Thrawn used to create Duurga. Skywalker did not understand Thrawn's purpose in keeping Duurga but suspected that the Hutt clone was useful for controlling the frog population in the marsh behind Thrawn's palace.[3]

During or after 25 ABY,[1] Thrawn created a clone of the deceased Wookiee Chewbacca, named Chewbaacca, whom he enjoyed pitting in arm-wrestling contests with Duurga. Eventually, Chewbaacca pulled one of Duurga's arms out, which led to Thrawn ending the competitions. The Grand Admiral also created another clone, Duuurga, near whom he refused to let Chewbaacca go.[3]

Personality and traits

As a clone of the original Durga, Duurga measured 3.7 meters long, had orange eyes, and yellow skin.[2]

Behind the scenes

Duurga was mentioned in "An Apology," a non-canon short story written by Timothy Zahn that was released online on Suvudu on April 1, 2012 as an April Fools' Day joke.[3]
