Welcome Chack Jadson!

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers: right|180px

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Senate Hall, visit our official IRC channel, or ask me on my talk page. May the Force be with you! — SFH 00:23, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

Giving warnings

The user you warned on the forum had already stopped: asking him to stop a second time a day and a half later wasn't necessary. Excessively warning a new user for the same mistake can be taken as unfriendly. Please try not to bring up old mistakes. Cheers, —Silly Dan (talk) 13:25, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Double Spaces

  • Hey, double or single spaces after sentences is acceptable per Wookieepedia's Manual of Style which references Wikipedia's Manual of Style. The difference only shows up when editing anyway. -Fnlayson 19:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
    • D'oh. I am so stupid. Sorry about that then. It just looks so ugly when I'm editing and it's double-spaced. Chack Jadson 19:12, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
      • You can use single space. Just no requirement for that way.. -Fnlayson 05:34, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
        • I know. I just thought double spaces looked so ugly when editing. But now that I know, I won't change it. Thanks for telling me. Chack Jadson 13:12, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Forum:Non-canon material

Hey, Chack...I'm just going through previous voters on Forum:Non-canon material to see if they were aware that there was a 3rd option in the vote, to keep the ambig material and remove the non-canon material? Though I want to sway your vote, I'm just checking to make sure that you knew the option was there. —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 03:52, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Please ignore the trolls

They're just doing it for attention. Reasoning with them will get you nowhere. —Silly Dan (talk) 02:17, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

  • K, thanks for the advice. This guy is just so stupid and insistent. But you're getting it under control apparently. Good work. Chack Jadson 02:19, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

Shola Ruins

This is the unregistered user who put the article of Shola Ruins. I request assisstance in describing them as you claim there is no proof.

  • What? I don't know anything about them. Chack Jadson 00:58, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I guess you don't own the Game Star Wars: Empire at War if not then can you find someone who has and ask them to take a look at Shola Ruins please? I was trying to describe them from what I know from this game and it's strategy guide

  • You're right, I don't. But yeah I'll ask around. You know you can do it too, right? Chack Jadson 20:53, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
    • I have the game and could try and check. -- I need a name (Complain here) 22:06, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
      • Thanks. That'd be a help. I've asked Jack and SFH and gotten negative responses.Chack Jadson 22:12, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Jorrel Fraajic = Jolee Bindo?

Any particular reason why? I don't mean that derogatorily, I just want to know what makes you think of me as Jolee. Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 20:57, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Alright, that makes sense... I figured that my name had something to do with it. Jorrel Fraajic Wiki-shrinkable 15:14, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Re:Technical Help

  • Chack, the arrow in the edit summary is created when you edit a "section" of an article. Instead of clicking the edit box at the top of the page, you edit a particular section- eg. Biography or Appearances. Then, don't erase what's already in the edit summary and the arrow should appear. On the eras tag- yes, that's an IE flaw. That's a bit beyond me- I mostly use Firefox now, and it doesn't have any problems. I can ask about it in the IRC for you though. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 20:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Fluffy (Wookiee)?

Your article [[Fluffy (wookiee)]] was sourceless marked for speedy deletion, so I deleted it. I noticed you created it with the {{verify}} tag: why was this? —Silly Dan (talk) 20:22, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

  • That's what I thought happened. Thanks! —Silly Dan (talk) 21:10, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Forum:Featured Article Reform Proposal

  • Might I just point out that the current plans for the Inquisitorius call for 4 administrators and 3 users, with another 2 members-at-large (both admins). We can easily add another "regular user" member to the voting queue, but I'm curious as to why you voted for members of a body that you are opposed to. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 22:37, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
    • I see your point, and we added Jaina Solo as another member to help improve the balance. Still, we had to consider the people most active in FA processes, and a lot of them happen to be admins, IMHO. Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 03:26, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Chack, I appreciate your input on the issue, and we are balancing the membership out now. There are 2 more regular users added to the list. The actual body is fairly well balanced, and there is no specific requirement for an admin majority in the Inquisitorius. All we want are people who will be good for the job, and some of them happen to be admins. I mean, Xwing328, Breathesgelatin, and myself weren't admins at all three months ago. Might I also point out that if you vote against the actual group, voting for the users doesn't help a whole lot. The important question is: Do you think that a team of qualified people would be good for our Featured Articles? Atarumaster88 20px (Audience Chamber) 00:06, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Jabba & Oola???

What thing about Jabba and Oola are you refering to? Also what happens to all of the slaves that are chained to Jabba, including Leia? Did Leia ever dance for him? Thanks, Grand Admiral Nick Vos [Holonet] Republic Emblem

How to nominate

How do you nominate

  • I believe it says how to on the Wookieepedia:Coolest thing ever page. But here it is anyway. To nominate something, put it where it would belong in alphabetical order on the page, then add an image to the gallery. Follow the format of the other nominees, and then add your image. Just go to that things page (like Darth Nihilus), click edit, and copy the image. If there is a part (in the image code) that says thumb and then has text, erase it when you paste it. Paste it among the the other images, where it would go in alphabetical order in the gallery. I hope that helps. If you need me to, I can do it for you if it's too complex. karen traviss

why do you not like her?

  • She comes across as very arrogant, and I hate the fact she keeps insisting that only three million clones fought in the Clone Wars. If the droid army numbered in the quintillions as it was said to, then how could three million clones win? Three million Jedi versus a quintillion astromech droids would lose. Three million SSDs versus a quintillion X-Wings would lose. I honestly have never read any of her books, so I don't know if she's a good author or not. Chack Jadson 13:38, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Quotes

Hi. I saw you deleted my quote on Death Valley. None taken. But might I ask if you have a nother one. I am updating all filming locations, and part of my plan was to have one quote on each one. I was thinking about a quote where people would go "oh, that's what was filmed there". And that means, not all quotes are relevent to the locations, only that it was said there. What do you think? Wich one would fit to Death Valley? --Steinninn 11:52, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Question from a noobie

I just merged Admiral Limpan to Tarla Limpan, how do I get the Admiral Limpan taken off of the list of articles that need to be merged. Thanks Darth Sarge 22:31, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

  • I used the things to do link on the noobie post that goes on a new users talk page http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Articles_to_be_merged is the link. But I think it has already been removed now that I look at it again.
  • Another question, I merged Burnin' into the Slang page and believe that the Burnin' article is no longer needed. What is the template to mark something for deletion. I have started a talk page on Burnin' if someone disagrees as well. Thanks Darth Sarge 02:23, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Thanks Darth Sarge 21:30, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
  • Again with the questions...I have been trying to get some of the articles in need of merging merged and was wondering about the creating redlink articles. For example R-Zone has 4 redlinks in it. Would it be stub if I created an article to this effect... Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Glad you enjoyed it...heck, I think I even enjoyed that episode. I actually think I stepped a tad out of line with the Vos Supporter at the very end, but, heck, it was a lot of fun. And, whilst the ROTS score is great, it owes a heck of a lot to ESB. :P .... 21:50, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Do, or...nah, I hate quoting Yoda. Look, even if you don't win, you can be content in the fact that you've improved the site by one proper article. At any rate, if you do get the article done by the end of the week, you might be the winner by default....people are doing the comp, sure, but they don't want to host the Wookiee-Cast, so they don't actually enter into it officially. From Jaywin

Thank-you for your comments on my talk page. Much appreciated. However, I don't really think about this as an issue about me. It's simply an issue about what this wiki community thinks is appropriate and inappropriate behavior by anyone, administrator or otherwise. Even though you are not an administrator, you are certainly as free as anyone else to express your opinions about this issue (or any other issue for that matter) at this site and participate in a collaborative effort with others as to what is considered acceptable behavior, if you so choose. That's just my two cents! Have a good one, and BTW, very creative user page! Jaywin 22:25, 29 May 2007 (UTC)

Re: 2nd Battle of Coruscant (Clone Wars)

  • You can see the Inq page for some of the suggestions. As I'm looking at the article, I can see it has {{inuse}} template marked on it, so some of what I'm suggesting may be changed. It's still not completely sourced. (every paragraph if you're not using the heading form) There are still some spelling errors (Whiel, etc.) and some diction/syntax issues. For example, there are two sentences in a row which start with "While". This doesn't read well to me. There is still play-by-play in the Kenobi/Skywalker and the Duel sections- you may want to condense and combine those two sections. Also, a factual inaccuracy with the Ataru and Shien parts- Fightsaber says that those aren't their standard forms- it was a deception to fool Dooku, according to Ep. III Novel. Anakin was a Djem So and Kenobi a Soresu practitioner- the use of alternate forms was a lure for Dooku. I'd still like more detail on what exactly the differences are between LOE and the Clone Wars cartoon. I've updated the Inq. page with the remaining issues. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 13:42, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Some suggestions on combining sections: Mission of the 501st could go under Republic actions and then combine Skywalker and Kenobi's intervention with the duel section. Oh, and "word of the attack REACHED Anakin and Obi-Wan." Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 13:45, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: Darth Bane

It looks pretty good to me (though I haven't read the book or comics so I'm no expert). There are a few points though:

  • The intro needs to be longer.
  • File:DarthBanelightning.jpg doesn't have a source.
  • File:Gamer-3-bane.jpg only has Star Wars Gamer as a source. It'd be nice to get an issue number.
  • You might want to get rid of the in-heading sourcing since it's not entirely popular.
  • In the personality section the paragraph "Eventually, with help from Githany and Kas'im he regained his lost ability and more, becoming more powerful than any other student. He regained his lost confidence," ends with a comma. I don't know if that should be the end of the sentence or if there's something missing after.
  • In the powers section the paragraph "In short, Darth Bane, the Sith who created the Rule of Two, was a very talented being. He was skilled in the Force, and was an excellent lightsaber duelist." seems a little redundant. Personally, I'd merge the "excellent lightsaber duelist" bit with the pervious paragraph about using Djem So and scrap the rest.

Hope that helps. Green Tentacle (Talk) 10:47, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey. Inquisitors can only restore FA status to an article that's on probation. Former FAs have to go through the whole FA nomination process again to get their star back. Darth Bane

Hey Chack. I just finished doing some work on Bane's article, and I wanted to tell you that you've done an awesome job at trying to restore this article to FA! :D I mainly just cleaned up the ref tags, reworded some things, and moved a few pictures so parts of the article did not appear so cramped. The only thing that I can see that is left to do, is to source the following—the Personality and traits, Powers and abilities, and the Behind the scenes. Once that's done, I have no problem giving my support as an Inq for it. Cheers, Greyman(Paratus) 02:26, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Hey Chack, I reviewed the article, and it's nice to see the edit war resolved...nice job. Jedi Outcast (12 ABY)

Hello. You recently reverted a couple of edits to the 12 ABY and 13 ABY articles. Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast's opening crawl clearly states "Eight years have passed since the Empire was defeated at the BATTLE OF ENDOR." Since the Battle of Endor took place in 4 ABY... I guess I'm curious as to your reasoning behind the reverts. Is there an important bit of info that I missed regarding the game's timeline?

There's a bit of a discussion on Jedi Outcast's talk page. Your input would be appreciated. -- SM-716 talk? 06:56, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

    • Well, Michael Nicobrasi, you have to be 18, a user for 6 months or more, and you need to be an established member of the community. So sorry, but right now, you've got no shot. Edit for several months, get a lot of edits (4000+), write some Featured Articles, and maybe you'll have a chance. And be a little politer please, Darth Whatever. • I don't remember the policy for sourcing infoboxes off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure you need to source all the canonical facts that you can, as redundant as that might sound. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 06:45, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
      • Yes, please source everything in the infobox, that way if unsourced material is added to the article, we will know immediately. Also, I'm not sure how much the difference is between LoE and CW, but I think a more in-depth BTS explanation might be merited. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 02:31, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Star Wars: Rebellion

I noticed you updated the Star Wars: Rebellion page and was wondering how often you played the game. I am a huge fan of Rebellion and just recently pulled it out of the basement, brushed off a fine layer of dust, and began my conquest of the galaxy all over again. Sadly, the AI is rather poor, in my opinion, and the game itself is not difficult to master. Thus, I have always been interested in finding a partner to play against over an internet connection. I acquired the game from a friend several years ago, well after the game lost whatever prestige it had, and never did get to experience multiplayer mode. Perhaps you would like to engage in a match a sometime?Toprawa and Ralltiir 23:21, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Yoda

Hey Chack, just edited a bit on the Yoda page. Felt some important facts left out and some opinions given without regard to fact. Did not remove anything, only added. Was not signed in, but created account after. Anyway, I did come up with the citations I needed to back the new edits, however was not able to get into my original article. Would gladly provide citations if article made available to me. It's the last edit that I see, finished around 9:30PM on Sat 8/11. Girlwalkerwookie was the closest thing I could think of for a name for myself, but I do have an advanced degree in Creative Writing and am published, but have written nothing for a ...pedia of any type before. Thanks... Girlwalkerwookie.

Re:Editing your page

  • Thanks for fixing my userpage. Someone mentioned it to me on the IRC, and I think it's to do with screen resolution, 'cause it was fine to me. I made a slight change to my page, but kept it pretty much like you had it, so hopefully now it'll look ok for you. Thanks, -- 40pxdmirableAckbar (It's A Trap!) 12:58, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

I Was Wondering...

if I could use your userbox about John Williams because I completely agree. Although I might change it a little, I thought it would be best to ask you first: I didn't want to get completley bombed out by you or others because of doing something bad like copying you or something like that. I Was Again Wondering

what those green or red numbers in parenthesis with plus or minus signs means that accompanies info about people on the recent changes list or watchpages: numbers like (+383) or (-24) except they are greeor red.Cm56327 15:52, 15 August 2007 (UTC) Cm56327

Skirmish at Carkoon

Nice work on the article. I don't like lists in my noms, (1) cause a lot of them are POV, (2), cause they need a lot of thorough sourcing. You did good though, Chack. Good job. Hopefully you'll be able to get it to GA. Jediknight19bby (Jedi High Council Chambers!) 20:49, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Custom Userboxes and Question

  • 1.How do I find an archive of some sort that lists all possible colors to use in custom userboxes—if there is one (like blue, darkred, seagreen, etc., not like #FF6666)? If there isn't, how can I find out?
  • 2.Can I use pics in custom userboxes that are not in Wookieepedia archive—ones that are from elsewhere? If so how do I? I looked at the Help: Editing, but couln't figure it out.
  • 3.Again, I wanted to know if I could use your "my favorite star wars movie is..." userbox. I'm sorry if I'm annoying you about asking to use them, because if so please tell me. So that I don't pester you anymore, if you come up with any other custom userboxes that I again want to use, can I do so without asking permission again? Cm56327 20:58, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Cm56327
    • 1-Huh, *shrug* okay.
    • 2-Okay, how do you uplaod, is it the green arrow?
    • 3-Thank you, and I will ask you from now on.
  • All right, thanks. Cm56327 17:19, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Cm56327
