- "The statue. It's been here for millennia. And it confirms our theory! This system was once inhabited by a sentient race. And now we have the proof!"
- ―Sturm Umbrik's holorecording
A sentient race was associated with a statue that remained as evidence of their existence in the Arath system. The statue was located on the moon Shara'Tam in the system, and millennia after its creation, it was discovered by a Republic Pathfinder team led by the Jedi Sturm Umbrik, whose theory about the Arath system having once been inhabited by a sentient race was confirmed by the statue.[1]
Umbrik recorded a message to inform the comms team member Janssen of the discovery; however, the entire team was subsequently killed in a pirate raid, leaving the location of the treasure on Shara'Tam unknown for centuries.[1] In 22 BBY,[2] a descendant of a member of the team, the Mirialan Servit, reactivated the EX droid that Umbrik had used to record the message about the statue. Servit intended to go to Shara'Tam via the coordinates that Umbrik provided to find the valuable statue for himself.[1]
Behind the scenes
The statue was mentioned in "Galactic Tales: Inheritance," an installment of the Galactic Tales series of short stories. The story was written by George Mann and was published in the Star Wars Insider magazine's 211th issue[1] on June 7, 2022.[3]
