A dying star became a red giant during the High Republic Era,[1] in 382 BBY.[2] During the star's transformation, it consumed the planets which had orbited it. The red giant's transformation was witnessed by the Galactic Republic communications droid EX-8C, which was on a journey from the planet Gloam in search of help for Jedi Master Rok Buran, the remaining member of the Republic Pathfinder team to which the droid had been attached.[1]

Behind the scenes

The red giant was mentioned in the 2022 junior novel The High Republic: Quest for the Hidden City, written by George Mann for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[1]
