The captain was working on Republic Security Zone Monitoring Satellite 777B-Alpha when Emergence debris entered the Trymant system.

A human lived during the High Republic Era and worked as a captain on Republic Security Zone Monitoring Satellite 777B-Alpha, a Galactic Republic monitoring satellite stationed in the Outer Rim Territories' Trymant system. As part of their work, they managed a Dug and at least one other human worker, who were responsible for monitoring sections of the system.[1]

In 232 BBY, the Great Hyperspace Disaster spurred Emergences—parts of hyperspace debris from the destroyed Legacy Run freighter—to start emerging from space and striking celestial bodies throughout the galaxy.[2] That day, the captain was working Republic Security Zone Monitoring Satellite 777B-Alpha, stationed near several of their underlings. The Dug notified the captain about the Emergence debris headed toward them, causing the latter to look up in shock. The captain then issued a planetwide evacuation procedure and alerted the Starlight Beacon space station of the impending crisis.[1] Subsequently, many of the planet Trymant IV's civilians were evacuated from the world by the Jedi aboard the Padawan Academic Cruiser Star Hopper with the assistance of a Republic rescue fleet.[3] All of Trymant IV's moons[4][5] were ultimately destroyed during the incident, while the world itself was shifted closer to the system's second sun, resulting in its aboveground water evaporating and its terrain turning to desert.[4]

Personality and traits

When informed about the impending Emergence debris, the captain was shocked but acted quickly for Starlight Beacon to be informed. The human had light skin and dark eyes.[1]

Equipment

While on the monitoring satellite, they wore a grey uniform that featured a silver-colored collar and a darker, gold-edged panel over the upper chest. The captain also donned a silver-colored helmet, blue gloves, and a belt.[1]

Behind the scenes

The captain debuted in the first issue of the 2021 comic series Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures,[1] released as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I. The issue was written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Harvey Tolibao, and published by IDW Publishing on February 3, 2021.[6] On November 17, 2020, a StarWars.com article announcing the comic series included a preview containing uncolored pages from the first issue, which featured the captain.[7]
