A Jadeite neighborhood was located on the planet Coruscant. During the High Republic Era, the eatery Tal-Iree's operated in the area, situated down an alleyway. The Jedi Padawans Avar Kriss, Elzar Mann, and Stellan Gios frequented Tal-Iree's and also found that pinkapple juice was available in the surrounding neighborhood.[1]
Upon Gios' death in 230 BBY,[2] his friends—by then Jedi Masters—grieved his loss.[1] In 228 BBY,[3] Kriss visited the neighborhood to acquire pinkapple juice. While there, she also opted to order three keldov nut pastries from Tal-Iree's. She brought the items to Mann's quarters in Coruscant's Jedi Temple, explaining to the latter how she had accidentally ordered three buns from the shop out of habit. The pair shared cups of sourstone mead—diluted with pinkapple juice—and reminisced on the times they had done similar in the past.[1]
Behind the scenes
The neighborhood was mentioned in the novel The High Republic: Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton[1] for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase III and published on June 11, 2024.[4] Prior to its release, a mention of the neighborhood was included in a StarWars.com preview for the novel on May 20 of that year.[5]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines
- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic: Temptation of the Force takes place one year and six weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon and its events span a few months, it must be set in 228 BBY.
