- "You had a Rebel—a potential Jedi, at that—in your grasp, and not only did you fail to extract any useful information from him, you allowed his Master to rescue him, from the Emperor's throneworld, no less."
- ―Darth Vader, to Antinnis Tremayne
A throneworld,[17] alternatively spelled as throne world[24] or throne-world,[13] was a world that served as the seat of power for a monarchist government.[1]
After the Declaration of a New Order in 19 BBY, the planet Coruscant became the Imperial throneworld and its name was officially changed to "Imperial Center."[1]
During the Imperial Period, the Deep Core planet Byss served as an auxiliary throneworld for Emperor Palpatine in the event that Coruscant was lost.[14]
