- "Now, if anyone asks, we're farmers from Tawl and you're my daughter."
- ―Obi-Wan Kenobi to Leia Organa
Tawl was a location in the galaxy. During the Forever War between the planets Eiram and E'ronoh, refugees traveled from Eiram to Tawl aboard barges.[5] By the middle of the Imperial Era,[6] Tawl was under the authority of the Galactic Empire.[3] As part of a rescue mission in 9 BBY, Obi-Wan Kenobi disguised both himself and a young Leia Organa in local attire, giving the young girl the alibi that they were farmers who hailed from Tawl.[4] Freck, an Imperial sympathizer on Mapuzo, considered the people in Tawl to be good people as they "paid their way and listened to the Empire."[3]
Behind the scenes
Tawl was first mentioned in "Part II" of the 2022 Disney+ television series Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi.[4]
