Swamp slugs were a species of creature native to the swamps of the planet Dagobah.

Biology and appearance

Their oesophagus were filled with thousands of teeth capable of grinding up plants and animals, but not suitable for swallowing droids.[2]

Swamp slugs excreted a slime that was highly prized by chefs and bartenders as a syrup.[3] Because of this, smaller swamp slugs were exported from Dagobah and could be found in captivity across many planets.[1]

History

In 3 ABY,[4] during his Jedi training under Yoda, Luke Skywalker came across a swamp slug.[5] The Dagobah Slug Slinger was an alcoholic drink served at Oga's Cantina in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu. The cantina sweetened the cocktail with slime from swamp slugs living[6] in tanks along the bar back.[7] An imitation slime recipe called Dagobah Slug Syrup was created by Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs and included in his cookbook The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook, along with the recipe for the cocktail.[8]
