The bog slug was a type of slug that lived in bogs on the Outer Rim Territories swamp planet Dagobah. Whenever they were available, the alien Jedi Master Yoda used bog slugs as an ingredient in the Mud and Bug Soup meal—which he admitted did not taste good—during his exile on the planet^[1] from 19 BBY to 4 ABY.^[2] Yoda eventually included a menu including the Mud and Bug Soup—and noting the bog slugs—in a travel guide he authored.^[1]
