A slug was a type of slow-moving gastropod creature. Sea-slugs,^[2] sand slugs,^[3] brain slugs,^[4] and swamp slugs^[5] were types of slugs. The silicon-based Exogorths were also known as "space slug."^[6]

The smuggler Han Solo once compared Imperial-class Star Destroyers to slugs after besting them in speed with his freighter, the Millennium Falcon.^[7]
