"I found them. They refueled on a space dock hanging over the gas giant Siquay."
―Marda Ro, in her journal[4]

Siquay was a gas giant[4] located in grid square S-8 of the Standard Galactic Grid,[1] in the Sriluur system[3] located in the Periphery subsector of the Tharin sector within the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the Slice.[2] Siquay had a space dock orbiting it.[4] At some point no earlier than 379 BBY,[5] the Evereni siblings Vika and Velya Faer refueled their starship at Siquay's dock and stayed there long enough for Marda Ro—the Evereni[4] founder of the group of pirates who would eventually become the Nihil[6]—to catch up with them in[4] her[7] hunt for other Evereni.[4]

After starships under her command surrounded the siblings' ship, Ro sent the two Faers an invitation to come aboard her vessel, the Gaze Electric, and they obliged. Ro later recorded a message for her descendants and mentioned Siquay and her encounter with the Faers in it.[4] By 252 BBY,[8] during his youth, Ro's great-great-grandson Marchion Ro had listened to her journal, including the message that mentioned Siquay.[7]

Behind the scenes

Siquay was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the short story "A Closed Fist Has No Claws," written by Tessa Gratton and published in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[4] The planet originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was a part of the Sriluur system and was first mentioned in the 2004 roleplaying sourcebook Geonosis and the Outer Rim Worlds published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[9]

Siquay's star system, the Sriluur system, was introduced in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published with the Star Wars Galaxy Map on StarWars.com[1] on June 24, 2025—both works being authored by Jason Fry.[10] In an email, Fry specified that worlds originating in Legends with a name different from their system's were left out of the Appendix, but intended to be located in their Legends continuity system in the current canon.[3] This puts Siquay in the Sriluur system, in-line with its placement in Legends.[11]

Per Email from on July 31, 2025 — Used with permission, the appendix's author Jason Fry indicated that the canon locations should be considered to be located in the corresponding canon systems of the same name as the Legends system.

  5. The segment of "A Closed Fist Has No Claws" depicting a Jedi's death onboard the Gaze Electric takes place around 379 BBY per the reasoning here. Marda Ro met the Faers after the Jedi's death; therefore, she must have met them no earlier than 379 BBY.
