A purple-bladed lightsaber was used by a blind Jedi of the Jedi clans known as Shogun. The lightsaber was a sabercane that they utilized both in combat and as a cane. Shogun used the cane while walking on the snowy mountain Mount Hakamori on an astronomical object, where they met the former Sith known as the Ronin in a hot spring. Before the two parted ways the next morning, the Ronin had a vision of Shogun using their lightsaber to defeat him and destroy his own lightsaber. However, when the vision ended, Shogun informed the Ronin they did not intend to kill him.
Description
A purple-bladed sabercane was utilized by a blind Jedi[1] of the Jedi clans[3] known as Shogun, who used the lightsaber as both a cane and in combat. The weapon's hilt was cylindrical and narrowed at its pommel. Several black lines ran from between the pommel and the middle of the hilt. The hilt could connect to the cane portion of the lightsaber, which was hollow and could be used as a sheath for the weapon while its blade was activated. The cane also had several ridges.[1] The lightsaber was powered by a kyber crystal.[2]
History
The Ronin saw a vision of Shogun fighting with their lightsaber.
At some point, Shogun used the cane while hiking on the snowy mountain[1] Mount Hakamori[4] on an astronomical object with their astromech droid. At night, Shogun arrived at a hot spring, where they met[1] the former Sith[5] known as the Ronin. While they disrobed, Shogun handed their cane to their astromech droid, who held it with a small limb atop its dome. Shogun then took their cane back and used it to enter the spring. When the sun rose, both the Ronin and Shogun exited the spring and walked away together, with Shogun using their cane to do so.[1]
Before they parted ways, the Ronin asked Shogun if they intended to kill him, revealing he was aware Shogun was a Jedi. The Ronin then saw a vision of Shogun drawing their lightsaber, using the blade to swiftly defeat the Ronin and destroy his lightsaber, and then sheathing their weapon. When the vision ended, Shogun informed the Ronin they did not intend to kill him, then departed. As they left, Shogun held their cane out in front of themself, with their droid supporting it with its limb.[1]
Behind the scenes
Shogun's lightsaber appeared in the non-canon comic Visions 1, written and illustrated by Takashi Okazaki[1] and published by Marvel Comics on October 12, 2022.[6] Prior to the comic's release, it was first pictured in a StarWars.com article published on June 15 of that year, which showed concept art of Shogun and their lightsaber by Okazaki.[4]
