"According to our contact on Rorak 5, the Hutts are looking to stabilize their dominance of the Kastolar sector."
―Elzar Mann, to the crew of the Gios[5]

Rorak 5 was a terrestrial astronomical object[5] located in the Rorak system in Hutt Space[2] and the Slice.[1] It was situated in grid square S-12 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[2] Rorak 5 was located at the junction of the Gamor Run and the Shag Pabol hyperspace routes.[3][4] The Gamor Run[3] connected it to the Circumtore system,[6] while the Shag Pabol[4] linked it to the Nal Hutta and Ylesia systems.[6]

In 228 BBY,[7] during the High Republic Era, a contact of the Galactic Republic was based on Rorak 5.[5] That year,[7] the individual learned that the Hutt Clan had been looking to stabilize its dominance of the Kastolar sector, which they then informed the Republic of. Jedi Master Elzar Mann later told the crew of the Republic Defense Coalition Longbeam Gios of the contact's information.[5]

Rorak 5 was mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the first issue of the 2023 comic series Star Wars: The High Republic, released as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[5] Phase III. The issue was written by Cavan Scott and published by Marvel Comics on November 8, 2023.[8]

In the Star Wars Legends continuity, the space station Rorak 5 first appeared in Jedi Quest: Path to Truth, a young-readers novel written by Jude Watson[9] as the first installment in the Star Wars: Jedi Quest series that was released in September 2001.[10] Rorak 5 was later depicted for the first time in the third issue of the comic miniseries Star Wars: Jedi Quest, which adapted the events of the aforementioned novel series. The issue was written by Ryder Windham, illustrated by Pop Mhan, and published by Dark Horse Comics[11] on November 14 of the same year.[12]

  7. 7.0 7.1 Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 4 takes place one year and two weeks after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. Since the events of The High Republic Adventures (2023) 6 are set immediately following the fourth issue and depict the expansion of the Stormwall, the expansion must have taken place in the same year. Meanwhile, the events of "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: No Big Deal" include the Stormwall's expansion and also depict the start of Pikka Adren's pregnancy. A later story, "Tales from the Occlusion Zone: Sparks Fly," states that Adren is eight months pregnant during its events, indicating that it is set eight months after "No Big Deal," and therefore one year, eight months, and two weeks after the fall of Starlight Beacon. "Sparks Fly" is set during the Battle of Eriadu, an event that begins in The High Republic Adventures Phase III - The Wedding Spectacular. As StarWars.com Star Wars: The High Republic Chronological Reader's Guide on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) places The High Republic (2023) 1 between the events of "No Big Deal" and The Wedding Spectacular, its events must also be set in 228 BBY.
