- "There are other ships here."
"Maybe they were pulled in too?"
"Unlikely. Their systems appear unfazed."
"Yeah, just wistful thinking. We might be in for a fight." - ―ND-5 and Kay Vess, on the R93 refractors
The R93 refractor was a type of starfighter that served as the main vessel model used by the Rokana Raiders by 3 ABY.
Characteristics
- "As for the nebula, all Rokana ships are upgraded to survive it."
- ―Hondo Ohnaka
The R93 refractor was a Starship model that was used by the Rokana Raiders as starfighters and pirate vessels. It had two rotating wings, with one having a larger length than the other. The ship consisted of two modes: the Scout Mode and the Assault Mode. In Scout Mode, the wings has the smaller wing above the vessel, with the larger being beneath. The mode allowed the ship to have a faster speed and acceleration, as well as maneuverability, but only two of the cannons can fire during the status. In Assault Mode, both wings flip to a horizontal position opposite to each other. During the mode, the maneuverability is noticeably reduced, but all four of the cannons on the ship will fire at a higher intensity.[1]

The ship supported at least two pilots at a time, but could also be operated with merely one pilot. A cargo space was also present to collect objects in space. The ship was covered in Rokana hull and was shielded by a FE-3 energy shield. Ones used by Rokana Raiders were also equipped with an ion shield, a shield made to prevent ionic charges from interfering with the ship. In docking position, both wings would rotate upwards to allow landing.[1]
History
By 3 ABY,[2] the R93 refractors were the main ship model that served the Rokana Raiders. When the Trailblazer was caught in the Sayma Nebula, several R93 refractors attacked and later captured the ship after the ionic Nebula disabled the Trailblazer. After Kay Vess' crew was able to escape the Khepi Tomb, the base of the raiders, several R93 refractors was in pursuit of the Trailblazer and were all destroyed.[1]
Kay Vess and Hondo Ohnaka, after escaping from the tomb, worked under the Twi'lek Reess Passik for the opportunity to steal an R93 refractor to return and infiltrate the Khepi tomb safely. Passik would create a setup of a cargo delivery to smuggle Hondo Ohnaka inside the R93 refractor, Cutlass. However, the ship came with escort, and the Trailblazer engaged in a skirmish with the other R93 refractors while Ohnaka seizes the Cutlass. After taking over the ship, Ohnaka traveled to Tatooine with the Cutlass along with Kay Vess' crew to retrieve the artifact required by the tomb.[1]
After the tomb began to collapse from a detonation, a portion of the Rokana Raiders escaped aboard the Cutlass before Kay Vess's crew were able to reach the ship. R93 refractors would later be present on several star systems, used by the Rokana Raiders to combat criminal syndicates. Kay Vess and ND-5 later had access to a R93 refractor that is missing a hyperdrive on the space station of Hauler's Keep in the Khepi system.[1]
Behind the scenes
The R93 refractor first appeared in the expansion of "A Pirate's Fortune" for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] released on May 15, 2025.[3]
