Pablo-Jill was an Ongree^[3] male Jedi Knight^[4] that participated in the First Battle of Geonosis as a part of the Jedi assault team. Pablo-Jill fought alongside the Jedi to free Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker, along with Senator Padmé Amidala from the Confederacy of Independent Systems.^[3] Sometime during the Clone Wars, Pablo-Jill's lightsaber was stolen from floating debris by Separatist General Grievous following an intense duel over Duro in a satellite city that left Pablo-Jill injured.^[7] Though encouraged by the Jedi Order to take a Padawan, Pablo-Jill never chose one.^[4] Pablo-Jill wore Jedi robes and owned a blue-bladed lightsaber.^[3]

Between 19 BBY and 9 BBY, Pablo-Jill^[2] had been found and executed by the Inquisitors. His body was then taken and entombed in their headquarters, the Fortress Inquisitorius, on the ocean moon of Nur in the Mustafar system. Left in a petrified state, his corpse was left next to those of dozens of other Jedi.^[8] In 9 BBY,^[2] Kenobi broke into the Fortress Inquisitorius to rescue Princess Leia Organa but discovered Pablo-Jill's corpse and those of the Empire's other Jedi victims. Although disturbed, Kenobi pushed on and completed his mission.^[8]

Behind the scenes

Pablo-Jill is named after a VFX Supervisor and Producer team at Industrial Light & Magic that worked on the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones,^[9] Pablo Helman and Jill Brooks.^[10] Pablo-Jill was one of few completely computer-generated characters in the Prequel trilogy. He was one of only three CGI Jedi in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Because of Pablo-Jill's awkward, bulky form and multi-jointed legs, it was decided that he would look best using computer animation.^[11] There was originally some confusion between Pablo-Jill and the Ongree member of the Jedi Council seen in Revenge of the Sith, with early Set Diaries naming the other Ongree Pablo-Jill and later Sweitt Concorkill, though he was eventually named Coleman Kcaj. The character was originally meant to be Pablo-Jill, but because the Ongree in Episode III needed a more detailed CGI model, a new character was created.^[12]^[13]^[14]

Initially upon the release of Part IV of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi present in Fortress Inquisitorius was identified as Coleman Kcaj on StarWars.com.^[15] Nevertheless, in the concept art done by Kouji Tajima, the art for this character was instead labeled as Pablo-Jill.^[16] Lucasfilm Story Group member Pablo Hidalgo pointed out the Ongree in Obi-Wan Kenobi does not have spots, closer resembling Pablo-Jill,^[17] (though in the films neither have spots on their face) but recommended that Wookieepedia give priority to StarWars.com than the concept art.^[18] Starwars.com later changed the mention of Kcaj to Pablo-Jill.^[15]
