Ottega was a celestial body[6] located in the Ottega system,[3] which featured the Ithorian sun[4] and was situated in the Ottega sector in the Mid Rim Territories[1] and the New Territories[2] as part of grid square M-6 of the Standard Galactic Grid. Ottega lay on[7] the Celanon Spur[5] hyperspace route that linked it to the astronomical object Genassa[8] as well as the Outer Rim Territories celestial body Tsevuka.[7]
Ottega shared its name with the location known as the Port of Ottega[9] as well as the Ottegan silk textile,[10] the Ottegan charbake smelt necklace, and the article of clothing known as the Ottegan fibrion scarf.[11] Praster Ommlen, a monk of the Sacred Order of Ramulus and one-time weapons smuggler who was active in the wider galaxy[6] by 34 ABY[12] and was an Ottegan—a member of a genetic offshoot species of the Ottega system's Ithorians[3]—hailed from Ottega.[6]
Behind the scenes
Ottega was first mentioned in the current Star Wars canon in the 2019 reference book Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition.[6] It originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it was first mentioned in the short story "A Bitter Winter," written by Patricia A. Jackson and published in the February 1995 fifth issue of West End Games' Star Wars Adventure Journal magazine.[13] Stephen J. Sansweet's 1998 Star Wars Encyclopedia then retroactively established that Ottega was one of the seventy-five planets of the Ottega system,[14] which had already been mentioned before in Bill Slavicsek's 1994 A Guide to the Star Wars Universe, Second Edition, Revised and Expanded.[15]

This assumes that the name "Celanon Spur," as used in Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon 48 Guide to the Galaxy: Visiting Ord Mantell, applies to the canon hyperspace route depicted on the map that matches the depiction of the Star Wars Legends route with the same name in The Essential Atlas per

(In response to: Hi @jasoncfry.bsky.social, was hoping you could confirm for Wookieepedia purposes that the hyperspace routes depicted on the Galaxy Map given out at Celebration are intended to be the same routes as in Legends. Sorry to bother, but would make our lives much easier to have it confirmed!)" (screenshot).
