The Old Republic Mint on At Attin.

The Old Republic Mint on At Attin.

An Old Republic Mint was an underground location where the Galactic Republic produced money in the form of credits.[1] As of 9 ABY,[2] only one mint remained in service, continuing to produce credits on the lost planet At Attin[1] as its people remained cut off from the greater galaxy and larger affairs.[3]

On At Attin, there were 1,139 massive underground vaults, lining a shaft, accessible by a lift for starships. Each vault had six stacks, each stack was six blocks high and nine blocks long.[4]

Pirate Captain Tak Rennod, SM-33, and the crew of the Onyx Cinder attempted to find the mint. However, Captain Rennod's crew mutinied against him and killed him. However, Rennod rigged the Onyx to crash into At Attin.[1]

In 9 ABY, Captains Jod Na Nawood, Brutus and their crew of pirates captured a group of children who claimed to be from At Attin.[5] Nawood was able to convince the children to let him help them find their way home. After finding Rennod's lair under Skull Ridge Mountain's Hotel & Spa on Lanupa, Nawood learned from Rennod's Datalog that At Attin had the last Republic Mint.[1] He was able to convince his crew to spare him in order to lead them to At Attin in order to take the mint.[6] After re-capturing the Onyx and it's crew, Nawood was to steal aboard it and was taken to the mint by posing as a Republic emissary/jedi.[7] The Old Republic Mint was revealed to be the Great Work, a government work program on At Attin run by The Supervisor, a droid inhabiting a tall tower in the heart of At Attin's main city. However, Nawood and his crew were unable to take control of the mint when the New Republic Defense Force destroyed his frigate and crew.[4]

  2. Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition, SWInsider "A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well. StarWars.com SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
