- "I assume these creatures are your perversion… Atha Prime."
"You should have left as intended. My quarrel is not with you."
"Then why an army of monsters, have you grown?" - ―Yoda and Atha Prime
Between 40 BBY and 34 BBY,[3] the Jedi Yoda and Vetna Mooncrest were dispatched on a mission to the remote moon Veeros to investigate experiments being carried out by the moon's sole inhabitant, Atha Prime. Traveling in a Consular-class space cruiser piloted by Captain Maoi Madakor and Antidar Williams, the Jedi arrived at Atha Prime's palace and were greeted by his droid majordomo Blue-Tark who showed them Prime's renowned bio-fields.[2]
Suspecting that there was more being hidden from them, the Jedi left but returned several hours later under the cover of solar activity on the south side of the palace. Entering the structure, they discovered a horde of xerexi that Prime had created and battled them before encountering Prime himself. Prime managed to escape from the Jedi on a starship, but other members of the Jedi Order then arrived and eliminated the remaining xerexi on the moon.[2]

The mission to Veeros appeared in the second issue of the Star Wars: Jedi Knights comic book series, which was written by Marc Guggenheim, illustrated by Madibek Musabekov, and published by Marvel Comics[2] on April 9, 2025.[4]

- ↑ 3.0 3.1 The events of Star Wars: Jedi Knights take place during the time Finis Valorum is Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic according to Jedi Knights 1, but also at least two years before the Battle of Naboo according to Jedi Knights 5, as the issue is set "years" before the Battle of Naboo. As Star Wars Propaganda: A History of Persuasive Art in the Galaxy establishes that the Supreme Chancellor served four-year terms, and the flashback section of Tarkin which mentions of Valorum's re-election is dated to 36 BBY by Star Wars: Timelines, Valorum must have served as Chancellor beginning in 40 BBY. Timelines also dates the Battle of Naboo to 32 BBY, therefore meaning Jedi Knights must take place between 40 BBY and 34 BBY.
