A micro-gyro unit was a type of droid part. Grandfer Aurin owned one of the parts and kept it in their used droid parts stall on the Outer Rim planet Dalna[1] by 382 BBY. That year,[2] Aurin distractedly fiddled with their micro-gyro unit when their former friend—Path of the Open Hand cult member Marda Ro—came to visit, uncomfortable with her presence after being questioned by the reporter Ric Farazi.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon a micro-gyro unit first appeared in the 2023 young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Vengeance, written by Cavan Scott as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase II.[3] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, micro-gyros were a part that could be used in Human replica droids to help balance them. They were first introduced in Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook, a 1996 West End Games roleplaying guide written by Peter M. Schweighofer for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4]
