Grandfer Aurin operated a stall[2] selling used droid parts in the market of the town Ferdan on the Outer Rim planet Dalna. During the High Republic Era, they befriended Path of the Open Hand cult member Marda Ro, and often saved her a table in the market near them for her and her Littles—the Path's children—to give gifts to passersby.[1]
In 382 BBY,[3] Ro and her Littles spent time in the market with Aurin as they sold used droid parts, with the child Eff sitting on the grandfer's lap.[1] However, when Ro visited the grandfer at their stall following the Path's involvement in the Battle of Jedha[2] later that year,[3] they acted cold and wary toward her as they distractedly fiddled with a micro-gyro unit.[2]
Behind the scenes
Aurin's stall first appeared in the 2022 young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Deceit, written by Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase II.[4] It was first described as a stall in the 2023 young-adult novel The High Republic: Path of Vengeance, written by Cavan Scott[2] and also released in Star Wars: The High Republic's Phase II.[4] Within Path of Deceit, the stall first debuted in a chapter written by Gratton.[5]
