The title of Director of Advanced Weapons Research,[1] also known as the Director of the Advanced Weapons Research Division,[2] was held by Commander Orson Callan Krennic as the head of the Imperial Military Department of Advanced Weapons Research and Project Stardust. Director Krennic oversaw the construction of the DS-1 Death Star Mobile Battle Station during the Imperial Era,[1] and was a member of the Joint Chiefs of the Imperial Military.[3] Director Krennic was assisted by Colonel Brierly Ronan, who held the title of Assistant Director.[4]
