A privately owned tibanna gas refinery was located at the world Lechra[1] within the Inner Rim's Lixal sector.[2] When Princess Leia Organa discussed with Rebel Alliance leader Mon Mothma and Rebel Intelligence Major Nioma about reaching out to worlds with energy-rich resources[1] in 4 ABY,[3] Mothma brought up the tibanna refinery on Lechra. This prompted Organa to ask Nioma to send her over more data on the world, and she eventually sent a holomessage to the world's viceroy about siding with the forming New Republic.[1]

The tibanna gas refinery was mentioned in The Princess and the Scoundrel, a 2022 novel written by Beth Revis.[1]
