The YV-865 Aurore-class freighter was a highly durable model of freighter built by the Corellian Engineering Corporation. Due to their excessive use by the Zygerrian Slave Empire, they were often nicknamed Zygerrian slave ships.
Characteristics
A Mining Guild Aurore-class freighter is escorted by a pair of TIE/mg sentries.
YV-865 Aurore-class freighters[6] were large and blocky spacecraft with spacious cargo holds, large enough to hold a blixus or, in the case of the Zygerrians, numerous slaves. The powerful twin thruster engines, albeit considered primitive by the time of the Clone Wars, sat on two articulated boom arms that extended from each side of the ship's primary hull. These boom arms would fold up while the craft was landing, using the engines as supports. Despite its size and large cargo complement, the vessel could be competently operated by a single pilot.[10] For emergency situations, the freighter had one escape pod in the upper rear section which could be ejected from the craft.[4]
History
During the Clone Wars, it was used as a slave transport by the Zygerrian Slave Empire (giving it its nickname), who outfitted the storage bays for live cargo. Darts D'Nar, a Zygerrian enslaver, captained a reddish-colored Zygerrian slave ship named the Tecora.[11] Delta-T-3 was another ship used as a slave transport, transporting the captives Obi-Wan Kenobi, Rex, and Gupat Roshti to the facility on Kadavo.[12]

Its use was not limited to the Zygerrian Slave Empire, being used as a general-purpose freighter across the galaxy. One was owned by the InterGalactic Banking Clan at the Cybloc Transfer Station,[4] as well as by Preigo and his traveling circus.[13]
In 3 BBY, the Partisans operated an Aurore-class.[8]
The Mining Guild used such vessels as well. Two years before the Battle of Yavin, an Aurore-class freighter was patrolling the Sereeda Waypoint with two TIE/mg Mining Guild starfighters when the ships encountered the rebel attack shuttle Phantom.[5]
In 35 ABY,[14] at least one Aurore-class freighter was part of the Citizens' Fleet at the Battle of Exegol between the Resistance and the Sith Eternal.[9]
